The reputable guys can all be rebuilt with reservoirs I believe? Could always add if you see temps going up and start to feel them fade. I'd say you'd need a helluva long hot day for an overlander to fade some 2.5" shocks though?

If you don't do desert stuff much then I can see your point. Anyone with a Tacoma I tell just do the resi to keep the oil alive longer.

It's a lot cheaper to sell non resi used and just buy a new pair with resi. Adding reservoirs is at least $500

Screw you guys, I'm trapped in my office in Ontario!

That's a helluva point. I learned that lesson hard on the adjuster valves for my Icons when a Stage 6 kit with tube arms and same shocks+adjusters was $500 more and now it'll be $600 just to do the rear!

I would disagree. Icons are stiff mother fuckers and having the ability to soften them up when you're empty on road and firm them up when loaded down on the trail would be nice.

It's an advantage to have them valved properly, but you still get an advantage being able to adjust them on the go. The tuning curve is better for the adjustable coil overs and there's less internal pressure so the seals last longer (supposedly)

That's a good point. I actually went to Deaver to see if my leaf springs needed to be adjusted (I have light expo springs with extra capacity) they responded by lifting up the ass end of the truck and dropping the shock bolts on the bottom of the shocks and showing me how squishy their springs really were.

Since then the ride has actually improved quite a bit (I think all the wheeling I've done with you guys recently has really helped) but it's still got that "I'm an offroad vehicle first and foremost" feel.

Exactly. Having the ability to soften it up for around town and harden it up when carrying a load? I bottomed out the rear end hard in Barstow a few weeks back with the guys which surprised me since the rear end is so stiff... then I remembered I had a heavy ammo can, ice chest, steel plates, rifles, etc. and it made sense.

Those adjustment valves up front are awesome even with valving being dialed in. You can just loosen them up on the street and ride like a Cadillac.

I wish I had my hands on some adjuster valves :(. I kept thinking I'd do the mod but as I add more "permanent" weight to the bed (thanks hi-lift) it's smoothing out.

I also keep saying I'll spring under axle, cage, and have a Camburg +3.5" before it matters....

@goblue82 was mentioning it earlier, these scrubs and their week-day wheeling, man....
