Pick up a set of used TRD off road shock/struts if you dont want a lift. Lots FS on the forum. A comparison I recently read said that the valving is the same on the ORs and the 5100s. Main difference being travel length is longer on the 5100s.

What quantity did you order for each? I hear conflicting reports on if a quantity of 1 comes with 2 shocks or not.

I ordered 2 of each. There is no way they would be selling them in pairs for the price I got them for.

I paid $200.85 for what thinking is 2 fronts and 2 rears. The fronts it let me select 2 the rears it would only let me select 1 period. I had 15% off and free shipping. The 2 fronts came today UPS it was only 2 days shipping. I will let everyone know how the rear or rears are shipped!! Now to figure out what configuration I want to use.

That sucks that it would only let you order 1 of the rears. You will have to order another one.
    Nice!

Damn, I kinda figured it was to good to be true. I just checked the tracking and it said 7.7lbs so ya that's definitely only 1 for sure. But like I said it would not allow me to add 2 or change quantities. Oh well guess I will order another one. Still a better deal than ANYWHERE else.

    Thanks!

What configuration is everyone going to set theirs at?? I have heard of ALOT of different ways to configure them.

Do we know yet if they are going to make a specific 5100 for 3rd gens? I know the September date has been thrown around, but I wasn't sure. And if they are released, what's the difference going to be? I'm prepared to order some now for future use, just because they are so cheap, but since this isn't something I'm going to do right away, I'm not sure if I should wait or not.

Just go ahead and order them. Only difference is the ring locations and possibly valving, but they work just fine and so do the 6112s.

I also ordered a set of the OME Coils to run with the 5100. So I'm going to set the 5100 at 0 and let the coils do there thing, 2.5" of lift. I ordered a 1.5" - 2" AAL for the rear. I read I'll be ok with the shock stocks, however I might get the 5100 out back seeing as Jet has them at an amazing price. Going to pick up my Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires today, all lift items should be in next week and Ill probably install next weekend some time. Ill post pictures when its done.

Which OME? 887 or 888? What AAL are you using?

I have 5100s all 4 corners for now, but am debating if I should upgrade the coils and rear. I'm thinking I don't want to do a job twice lol. Get it done the first time.

I'm only wanting to run 265/75 16's, but keep the shocks at 0, while getting 1 1/2" lift in the front and 1" in the back w/o using blocks, which means I'm still doing a lot of reading. I want to maintain as close of ride quality as possible w/o messing with drive line specs.

You're not going to get any lift then. You will get more ground clearance running those tires, but that's it. Your drive line won't suffer or get damaged running stuff less than 2 inches. To correct driveline is easy and cheap with diff drops/carrier. Most people don't use them and have little to no issues.
