Yeah you can't paint over chrome. They're triple plated. Cooper then nickel then chrome. I stripped it down to clean plastic before painting it. Only right way to do it.

Nice truck. I've always liked how the dclb has curves that flowed from the rear passenger door to the bed vs. how the dcsb's bed looks chopped off...If only toyota built the dclb with an M/T.

Yeah I just sold my 2000 Jeep Cherokee and upgraded to this bad boy, so I'm sure I can figure something out for her.

Looks good! How do you like the 5100s at the 1.75 setting? Mine are at .85, was thinking about raising it, but didn't know about the alignment or how it would ride. Does it feel "floaty" at all?

I was contemplating doing .85 but then @2000man showed me his Tacoma set at 1.75 and told me how his ride was, so that convinced me! Alignment is not perfect but definitely within range and I was informed that premature or accelerated tire wear wouldn't occur. It pulls to the right SLIGHTLY (but I think that's normal LOL). Noticeable difference in height and overall I'm COMPLETELY stoked on it - rides stiffer than stock, definitely not "floaty".

Thanks for the honest reply! I was worried about it feeling "floaty" or alignment be too far out. Now, I'm probably going to be raising mine up a notch! I think they look better with more lift anyway. Also, any vibration issues like some are having?
    Thanks!

Yeah man, you should definitely do it...especially since you're paying that much money, you want a noticeable difference ya know? And there's absolutely no vibrating of the sort! It only sounds like it because of my new BFG KO2s ;-)

Well, I just put the BFG KO2s on with the initial lift so I know what you're talking about. Ok, you have me talked into it! I was wanting to go that high the first time, but was afraid to. I'm getting my bed decals put on tomorrow so I'll have update the progress as I go!
    Thanks for the info!

You can't paint over chrome. People do but it doesn't last. Stripping it and doing it right is the only option in my book.
