    You're not the first person to mention that. The other person who told me that said it was because of the lack of support behind the recovery point (flush mounted recovery point without bracing behind it to the frame). I haven't had a chance to look at the back of the recovery point first hand myself but I trust what he said. Is this isolated to the front bumpers or are the rears designed the same way?

    I would love to go with relentless when I'm ready but going to have to see the lead times drop.

    The recovery points on my front bumper do not weld thru the bumper on the backside of the recovery point. My HC rear does though and is welded to the support that goes to the frame.

    good to know that its just the front bumper. I'll end up going with a rear hc first anyways and was leaning towards billy's considering the lead time. I liked how yours looked when I saw it at MJ's last mod day.

    No, ive made a few recoveries of full sized trucks with no issues. I've pulled myself and a 1st gen tundra together outta snow. We were both over axel deep.

    I have tons of stories. Most come out when I have been drinking.

    Specific to the front bumper, Rob pretty much covered it below. I'm not saying you can't recover from it. You are welcome to. Me personally, having too many close calls and near death experiences, I try not to volunteer to put myself in harms way anymore. Take it as a grain of salt. I'm just one guy. I look at fabrication design and structure to take into account worst case scenario (mostly because they always seem to end up that way).

    As much as I hate to say it, because he said it himself, he's an asshole, @jberry813, but a recovery point just welded on top sounds to me like an easy way to take out my back window, or someones head. My Pelfreybilt recovery points came through the bumper and welded all around, you were taking part of the bumper if not all of it with you if it failed

    Jason, you took zero chances with the big recovery last year in Moab. He wanted Nicks truck as the main recovery truck. Mine and another truck were tied in just in case. For what the situation was, I was really impressed but not surprised by with the way the Relentless bumper handled it. I think those that are looking for a bumper should do the research and ask the right questions. I'm sure the fabricator has their reasons for the designs they come up with, and can answer questions regarding their design.
