Me too. I need at least a little rake for hauling, and I pull a small utility trailer occasionally. That's why I'm considering retaining the overloads when I eventually install the Pro suspension, and AAL. Both of those trucks look great guys!

Hey Dropitmore - your truck "looks" level from the angle of the photo. It's cool, obviously not stock. Adding a spacer is going to make the ride a tad rougher. Just sayin'.

I don't haul anything, but if I did I would definitely do the overloads so good move there. It's also good you are going with a progressive AAL instead of just a single leaf being added to your current pack. The progressive pack is much beefier.

Thanks for the link. My plan is to wait till the stock BFG's need replacing. Then, replace tires and suspension components at the same time. That's a pretty good price though, so I might go ahead with the purchase, and just put it back till I'm ready to install. Hmmm...

I haul a 2 horse slant load aluminum trailer with mine with the overload removed. I approximate the weight with horse and tack and trailer about 4800lbs. The truck handles with no problem. Maybe over time the rear springs will weaken, so I've saved the overloads just in case, but I don't need them for what I'm hauling.

Thanks @JuanitoBunito for helping me out with my question earlier. The more I look into various suspension setups the more questions come up. For example, now I'm wondering how to properly pair an aal system, or a new leaf pack with the correct set of rear shocks. From what I understand the rear shocks for the Baja, and TRD Pro suspensions can accommodate an additional 1 inch of travel. Is that the same as saying they can accommodate a rear lift of 1 inch? If that is true then wouldn't I run into problems by pairing these shocks with the ICON 3 leaf aal, which typically provides 1.5 inches of lift (2 inches with overloads in place)? I've looked at some of the rear shocks offered by Fox, and the descriptions of some of their shocks specifically states that they are rated for 0-1.5 inches of lift, or 2-3 inches of lift, etc. Would the extended travel shocks such as those offered by Fox, or ICON, or whoever be better suited for an 1.5-2 inch aal installation? Also, I'm assuming that the leaf springs are what should limit down travel in the rear end, not the rear shocks, and certainly not the brake lines. I would really like to install the Pro suspension, because a 1.75 inch lift up front is all I am after, but a level truck is not much use to me, and if I can't or shouldn't install an aal with the Pro suspension then maybe I should look at other options. What do you all think? Am I way off base here? Thanks in advance!

I see what your saying.....but I think your just way over thinking it. The ICON Progressive AAL pack I have on my truck is that 3 leaf pack....and it rides like a dream. I also know of a few guys that have kept the overload in and been fine as well . One question I guess I never asked was your intended use for your truck. If you plan to really do some heavy off roading then maybe the whole suspension travel thing can be a factor. Im positive for daily or light trail use the Baja/pro set up with a progressive aal (with or without the overload) you'll be fine. Also in time, your spring pack with the progressive aal will settle a little.
I've had 4 tacomas lifted 4 different ways. This lift by far blows the others away.....night and day. I know there's a shit load of guys that will have a different opinion for various reasons, and that's fine. ....this is just mine.

I totally agree with Juan about the driveability of this set up. The rear shocks have lots of travel - with external reservoirs they work great.

Ok maybe not for extreme rock climbing but I go off road and I've never had a problem. The advantage of a modest lift it that it does the job off road and at the same time when you're dressed up and going some important you don't arrive in a vehicle that looks like mad max

Thanks again for the quick reply! I don't do any heavy off-roading at all. We've got a little shooting range on the back side of approximately 35 acres that I drive back to about 2-3 times per month. I cut through a couple of fields to get back to the range. The terrain is pretty hilly, with several low spots that get pretty boggy after a rain, and can become water crossings after heavy rains. That's about it in regards to off-roading. Honestly, my stock Off-Road handles this stuff just fine, so if you want to get down to brass tacks, then I really just want to lift it for looks! The truck is my daily driver, and I don't really have any complaints with the way the stock Off-Road suspension handles. So If I change anything, then I want to make dang sure that I don't screw it up, which is why I'm asking all these questions! Thanks again for your time and help.

I think I'd make quite the impression if I showed up at Sunday school sitting on 2000 hp of nitro-boosted war machine. Don't you? ;)

No worries at all!!! I've been right where your at. You'll be just fine and pleasantly pleased. I would do this lift and start with my setup. (no overload in back) it should leave it sitting identical to mine with a slight rake. See how you like it and if you think you still want it higher in the rear you can always then go ahead and add the overload.

ok, gonna pull the trigger on the pro setup but just wanted to triple check with you guys these will be stock replacement for my year, 2012. (part number PTR13-35150) I know the 12's-15's are basically the same but just checking.......This will give me the shocks and front coils. I'm leaning towards the progressive AAL for the rear, which i'm assuming this is a full leaf pack? and after reading all 15 pages again, lol, it looks like i should be ordering suspension brackets for the rear resi's and bushings for the rear shocks? (top's) Does this sound about right??......and this should give me about 1.75" in the front and 2" in the rear, basically keeping the same rake as stock? Sorry to beat the dead horse but just wanna be sure before i spend a couple grand! Thanks in advance!.....And has anyone added the 1" front spacer yet? just curious....

Yes the coil overs and rear shocks are a direct replacement. The progressive aal gets added onto your current springs. ......the bushings for the rear shocks....I'm not sure what you mean. The brackets for the resi's I'm assuming come with the package.
Edit....I'll look to see in my messages who I know has added the spring seat spacer.

If i remember correctly it was you who spoke about the bushings on the rear shocks, one side didn't come with them so you, i'm guessing, used the stock ones? I could be wrong, read a marathon of posts the last hour! lol....and the brackets i believe someone said they didn't come with the install package, did they come in yours?.......and thanks for checking, i'm more curious than anything. I'm guessing you didn't install the spacer yet?? lol....
