Just curious if anyone is into model rocketry? The strongest engine I've ever used was a B6 and that was more than strong enough for the neighborhood I flew it in AND it was my first flight, LOL!!! I learned after that experience, LOL!!! Since that first flight, I must have done 50+ launches. I haven't shot a rocket in YEARS and have been wanting to get back into the hobby. These are just 2x of a few that I have. I have no experience with multi-stage and, anyways, that would require a pretty large area as I want to recover my rockets because what would the point be if you couldn't??? Anyways, just wondering if anyone has done so. I even go as far as doing N-s and payload calculations. It is actually a pretty fun hobby. I try to stay away from the balsa wood fins because I've had too much bad luck with them even with the chutes. They just never fall "correctly" and it becomes too much downtime!!!


I still have yet to shoot this one because it is so tiny, I'm afraid I'll never see it again, LOL!!! It's the Estes Alpha iii rocket.

 

@digitaLbraVo, @MadTaco461, @dtaco06 How do you know if your shocks are "fading"? What is that exactly as far as "feel"?

 

Feel mainly. Youll blow through them after extended runs.

 

So I take it when the shocks start to go, then it becomes a "springy type feel"?
