Had the same issue and my 5100's were only on for a few thousand miles. Finally said F-it and pulled down the boot and used vice grips to hold the shaft. Worked like a charm.

Luckily it was the old one so I cute it off to put the new 5100s on. Unfortunately due to the delays I only got one side done and I have to go to work now :( so I hope I can do the left in the morning then the fronts on Saturday.

So I keep seeing this all the time on 2nd gen rear shock top nuts. New issue to me coming from 1st gen.

Possible proactive solution to reduce this effect:
When new/after install, clean thoroughly, then spray them with plastidip. Inspect and repeat if necessary each tire rotation?

I can only do that on ice/snow. Elevation sure sucks up a lot of power... of which the Tacoma didnt have much to begin with.

V6. Maybe its weighed down with too much crap. I can see whipping it sideways to get the tires to break traction, but it sure does not seem to have the power to spin them from a stop with good tires.

I guess... nor do I have the intention of doing that. Other than on dirt roads or snow covered ones.

The phone data and monthly payment will be nothing compared to the mods you will soon be "group buy'ed" into purchasing since they are on sale...

Yeah already ordered sliders and working on tires. I have to keep my eye open for a lift group buy.
