Very nice! May end up going ahead and ordering a RTIC for myself.

I ended up buying on of these in the 58 Qt version. A friend is a fishing guide and has used Yeti, Grizzly and some others and he said this one performs the same as all those others at a fraction of the cost and weight. The hinge hardware is the weak point on these Coleman's, but I won't be using it on a daily basis, so I'll be fine.

Anyone else who ordered a RTIC 65 earlier this year still in Limbo waiting for their cooler to ship? Ordered on March 13, order status is still showing estimated ship date of 5/31/16.

I like the fact it has back pack straps. Let us know what you think of it once you put it through some use (and/or abuse)

What was the time span from when you ordered until delivery?

Anyone ever used dry ice in their cooler? Got a long trip coming up and it sounds tempting to use dry ice to get me through the first seven to eight days....may take up less room than ice.

I ordered back in the middle of March. I think the turn around is much faster now.

I took it rafting this weekend on the Trucker River and it held the drinks nice and cold. Is it worth $125? I only need it to hold my drinks cold for a day. It's a nice looking cooler that fits my needs.

    Got this today

After months of debating which one to get (Pelican 45QT or Yeti 45QT), reading/watching lots of reviews/comparison/ice test on YouTube. I decided to get the Pelican 45QT ProGear Elite Wheeled in Tan color. Man I have to say this thing is a beast. Built solid, looks stout and can't beat that Lifetime Warranty. Always been a fan of Pelican and their cases. Pretty much a household name in the military. The thing that I think that'll turn buyers away is the weight of it at 37lbs empty(that's why I got the wheeled version haha), and the price. Pretty much looked everywhere for the best price. Shipping to Hawaii is what kills a reasonable price, such as on Amazon etc. I ended up ordering it from Home Depot for $375.92($359.00+$16.92 Sales Tax), with free shipping. Seems like the only site that offers free shipping outside the continental US.

Saw this at the Navy Exchange. I think they just started carrying them. The Tundra 45QT is $314.99(Tax Free). Lowest one I've seen so far besides online. Anyone seen a lower price then that?

That Pelican is awesome. The wheels are a great feature.
If you are a REI member every year they send you a 20% off coupon in December. I've bought a couple Yeti coolers with them. Still expensive but better than sticker price!

That pelican lifetime warranty ain't all that great honestly IMO

Basically if the body of the cooler falls apart somehow without obvious damage from accident then they'll replace that...but that's it

So last year for my Birthday my wife wanted to buy me one of these. Id seen them but never done much research because I knew they had a "hefty price tag". I didn't realize how hefty until I did some research. Good god....WTF?!?!?!? I've had about 3 - 4 coolers over the past 18 years or so. All were replaced due to me wanting to "upgrade".

I've read some of this post and still can't figure out what the real benefit is to spending this kind of cash on a cooler? My Coleman/Igloo' have served me great and I only had one (current cooler) that the hinges went out on...its expected with my use and the fact they are cheap thin plastic and I've had the cooler for about 4 years. I replaced them with some screws and nylon straps, works like a champ.

I'm in the market again for a new cooler as I want to "upgrade" and have some money burning a hole in my pocket. Someone tell me why I should fork out $200ish+ for a 30ish QT cooler. I usually get something in the size of a 36-45 QT. I use it probably 2-10 times a month. Wheatear its icing down drinks in the back yard, going camping or to the beach or getting tossed in the back of the truck for general goofing off and what not's. I utilize it as a seat, it gets tossed on my shoulder and then slung to the ground/truck bed, it will get kicked, walked on by kids, slid across sand/dirt/gravel and may even get rode hard depending on how long the night is...lol. I have no concern if it can hold ice for 47 days, 16 hours and 12 minutes. I've never been in a situation in all my years where I cant get ice. Enlighten me please. Thanks.

I'm the same way. However, I ran over mine with my Rzr a couple weekends ago when it fell out and I would've been replacing a $30-40 cooler if I would have done that with a cheaper one.. On the other hand I only paid $90 for my Ozark knockoff one that's built like the Yeti's so I believe I actually have paid for it now.

If you don't care about the cooler breaking, as yours have, and you don't care about ice retention, then a Yeti is absolutely not for you. No one will be fighting to tell you otherwise.

I think the Yeti/Cooler was specifically designed for the camping/fishing trips where people cant get to ice for a few days. Then it became a overpriced fad that everyone thought they had to have one. I'm sure Yeti loves it cause they've profited heavily from it.
