Not sure on longetivity, I dont expect it to last a year and look decent, no biggy as I will just peel, clean and redo.... but I will tell you as you spray, avoid any sweating on your surface before or after, really dicks it up.

Debadged, tinted windows, removed stupid valance up front and weahertech floor mats. Ordered wheels and tires along with SR grille surround (despise chrome). Refraining from lifting this one, after owning 2 lifted tacomas, tired of playing the lift nuisance/issue game, stock mall crawler for this guy.

    Welcome to Third Gen.

Now you need tailgate, door sill, and glove box letters from @rrentrop.

    Adds horsepower.

Thanks, I'm alright. Keeping this one pretty simple, no lift for me, been down that headache trail just not worth it in the long run (mpg, maintenance, trade in value wise). Happily enjoying my freaking 22mpg on my first tank with this one! And luckily no "turd gen" issues as of yet. Cant wait to get the stupid car tires and ugly wheels off.

:) Nice looking truck. love the black , I had a black 2011 TRD ORDC SB loved the color but pita trying to keep it looking nice. When I traded it in on this 2016 TRD ORDC/LB I was thinking about getting another black one but my wife wanted the Barcelona red . I like the red but I still think the black is the best color when their all shined up and looking pretty.

Thanks! I do miss my super white 2015 in some aspects, but it also was a pain to keep clean, the dealer only had super white, black, mgm, inferno and quicksand, they had a few blacks of the same model so figured I could negotiate price better and did, agree though black is a PITA for everything from scratches to cleaning, but does look nice shined up. Love your loaded DCLB BC, they had a loaded same one in MGM, but couldn't stomach the $39k sticker when I'm trying to leave the AF here in 2 years. My poor man Sr5 works for me and is leaps and bounds interior and feature wise over my 2015 Sport.

Decided to try something different today, and make my own tonneau cover...

Took some measurements and then decided to hit up Lowes and pick up what I needed.

Got home and started cutting and test fitting. Wanted to make sure I had a hinged section to make it easy to get into the bed and to be able to carry larger items.

First section, 3 feet from the cab back.
    image.jpg

    Then the second section...
Little over 2 feet to the tailgate.
    image.jpg

Made sure to add bracing and clear the bed rail mounts, also added "I hooks" for mounting in in the bed.
    image.jpg
    image.jpg
Finished test fitting and added paint and weather stripping..
    image.jpg
    image.jpg

    Mounted it to the bed...
    image.jpg
    image.jpg

And the finished product! All mounted and solid as a rock. Easily holds my 240lb self without flexing.
    image.jpg image.jpg

Not bad for about $90 and a few DIY hours.

That's pretty neat. Let us know how it holds up against the elements.

I thought that too, but didn't want to say anything since I've made it a whole week without pissing anyone off.

Your million dollar idea has probably better water protection than oem. Now put some deck sealer and make it water tight ! :)

Got some Cooper Discoverer AT-3 (265/75-16) today. Pictures do it no justice at all. Looks so much better in person.

School me up man, I'm new to the Tacoma and 4x4 world. What is "LT"? I'm assuming its not the linebacker who played for the Giants back in the 80's-90's...lol. Thanks.
