Had mine done last Friday. No issues and happy with the result. Ride hight about the same, maybe 1/2 inch higher, but much stiffer.
I used to be able to push on the bumper or tailgate, and easily squat the rear. It's noticeable harder to get it down now. Not sure what is up with all the
people having sag issues after the recall. I am wondering if dealers are using the wrong springs? I can't imagine that many dealers
are screwing it up. Going to throw in a set of AAL and 5100's front/back. Then some new tires in the fall.

my local dealer ordered my springs a couple weeks ago.evidently just the springs, not the install kit.the wait continues.got my springs changed, can't complain about the dealer service.didn't raise the rear any.

Anybody from Georgia get the notice that the fix is ready? My last letter stated early spring. The people at the dealership told me late May. Well, it's June now. It's been ridiculous...just getting worse.

I'm in Arkansas and they said they've ordered parts for mine. I was told that they are officially replacing all springs with the 4 leaf. But I just hope I don't get one of the super crappy ones it looks like some people have gotten.

looks like results are mixed. I got mine replaced last week and my rear lost a little rake. Honestly there was nothing wrong with my TSB but i decided to get this done before getting some AAL's. But i was hoping not to lose any rake with the new leaf springs. Oh well it's time for a suspension upgrade in a couple of months.

I just received my Official recall notice today, called Toyota San Diego to schedule but the springs won't be here until circa next week. I currently have a 3 leaf pack so I'm sure the Recall springs will be an improvement.

First time posting to this forum. I have a 2006 Tacoma & finally got the letter about the leaf spring recall. Called my local dealer and asked how it works now that I have an All Pro AAL and was told they will replace the rest of the leaf pack on both sides for $478.45 out the door. This sounds crazy to me! Especially seeing a few people talking about getting reimbursed from Toyota after replacing leaf springs themselves. Anyone have any advice?

@scurrann you shouldn't have to pay a penny to get the replacement. you probably have to take out the AAL before getting inspected and will need to reinstall the AAL on your own after Toyota installs the new leaf pack.

You can buy dakars for the same price, changing rear leaf springs isn't hard in my opinion (I have done it on a ford f250).

After hearing other's stories I'm not sure I want them to mess with my truck. I haven't gotten the recall letter that the remedy is ready so if they break and there's injury and/or loss of life it's not my fault.

I work in the Service Department for my local Toyota dealership. Hopefully I am able to answer some of the concerns stated above. Any questions, just let me know! If I can't answer them right away, I will get back to you as soon as I know!

Toyota sends every owner with the Make/Model & Years affected a letter (thanks media outlets!), we (service department folk) run the VIN to verify if your specific vehicle is, in fact, possibly affected. Then we schedule an Inspection to verify which part(s), if any, need replacing and order said part(s) accordingly from Toyota.
Once parts are ordered they can take anywhere from 3-10 business days to arrive at your dealership, given no unforeseen delays. That is why appointments for installation are scheduled out accordingly.
Service Campaigns/Safety Recalls are covered 100% by Toyota, as long as it's the original affected parts.

@TRIPPIN I don't think I kept the stock overload springs but if I can find them that may be the answer. Although the front will sit so much higher cause I'm not removing everything! Dealer said since they can't use the stock center pin or U-bolts they have to charge me for those parts and all the labor. The AAL has the center pin and I don't mind paying for new U-bolts (even though they mark them up a ton) but paying for all the labor that they would be doing anyway with the recall is lame, it takes 10 minutes to remove the stock overload spring and throw on the AAL!

@cosmicfires My truck only has a leveling kit, 3" in the front and 1.5" in the back, I haven't done a ton of research but most complete leaf packs I've seen have a 3" lift, do you know of dakars with 1.5"?

So, to qualify I would need to remove the AAL and replace the original overload spring before inspection? What if the u-bolts are not original?

Well they told me they need to order the leafs and about 3 months and pretty much everyone is qualified for the replacement
