Been using my HF jack for about 2 years now. Its the 4 ton low profile one. I love it. It gets plenty of use and has yet to give me any issues.

No inherent hatred of Harbor Freight from me, but I have decided to buy only non-moving, or non-mechanical parts from them.

After nearly stripping a crankshaft bolt on a high-end Italian motorcycle using a HF torque wrench, I promptly placed it in the dustbin and purchased a quality CDI (Snap-on) torque wrench. I will never need another one.

FYI, the HF torque wrench apparently froze in the "locked" position causing it to never click. Not the kind of failure you want.

I mostly agree. I'm okay with my HF Jackstands.... they are pretty good and are safety related.

People buy a pickup (Tacoma) over say a Dakota for the peace of mind and reliability and spend thousands more even double. Then they proceed to get a shitty tool and hop online to defend it?

Doesn't make sense and you aren't being thrifty.

Pay the cost for a good quality tool.

I've seen the "reviews" of morons who actually think a predator inverter generator is better than a Honda, what a joke.

Precision tools or anything with electronics over $20 isn't worth it from HF. Unless you need to use it once.

Okay, I get it what your saying about HF. I use to ignore the place like the plague. But one day I went in to buy some tie down straps (got signed up), two weeks later I purchased 6t jack stands and a 4t floor jack. For as much or little as I use them they have both performed as they should. I have to admit I was sceptical about the jack stands but both have gained my trust.

As far as the the torque wrenches go I would really like to see some comparisons (one on one/side by side torquing) between HF and the "quality" tools i.e. Snap On, Matco, Proto, etc. and see the variation between the two. I mean how are all these torque wrenchs calibrated after all? For people to say HF is shit and to only trust a name brand I totally understand but let's see some real life test data to determine if HF torque wrenches are indeed scrap.
