Were you the person who tried American Ninja Warrior in the T-rex body?

Finally decided on a .22 pistol as a suppressor host, I was planning on getting a M&P 22 compact or 22/45 or mosquito but I decided to get a GSG 1911-22, gonna order it either this paycheck or next.
Don't know if I want the blued or tan finish.

Like others have mentioned, buy bigger than what you think you need. Typically you can only store half of what they claim. Also don't buy for how many guns you currently have, you can run out of room quick. If you aren't going to secure it to the floor, weight plays a big factor in choice, you don't want someone to just carry your safe off. Stay away from Stack-on.

Unless you don't have a mint invested in your firearms and simply want to keep the kids away. I have a Stack-On and while it is purely utilitarian, it does the job I need it to do. It was a gift I gladly accepted and bolted it down in the back of a closet to keep guns and ammo away from little hands and curious eyes.

Is it a higher end stack on? Or one from Walmart made of sheet metal? Not trying to knock your safe but a cheap safe is useless if you want any decent protection from theft.

Ha, no worries. It's a basic locking cabinet, not a safe. I don't have enough space for a safe nor do I expect it to be a theft deterrent. I knew it was a cabinet going in. Simply a deterrent for my kids, not crooks. It is bolted to the floor and wall, but I'm sure a crowbar would get into it with a little wrangling. It's basic sheet metal, about the same thickness and quality as my Craftsman tool cabinet, only with a 3-point lock rather than a basic latch lock.

It's up to the end user. I have way too much invested to be i side a $150 safe.

Pretty much any safe is useless as theft protection. It is nothing but a time delay device, and as cheap as plasma cutters are now... you can get in pretty much any of them in half an hour or less. Keeps honest people honest is about it. This is a pretty good video describing the features that help prevent prying, but none stop cutting tools.

I never said a safe was theft proof, just that a Walmart $100 safe is doing nothing to secure your guns, you can break into them with a screwdriver.

Yeah, If you are serious about a safe to stop theft, it has to be at least TL-15/TL-30, bolted to the wall and floor. Preferably in the corner of a room to limit work space. Most of your home thieves don't bring a plasma cutter, but may have some heavy duty pry bars. If your safe is not bolted down, it is very easy to steal if it is on the ground level of your house. A 1000lb safe can be moved with one guy and a blanket pretty quick.

Best thing is to prevent thieves coming to your house for your guns. Plenty of people have been followed home from public ranges. If they know what you have and where you live, all they have to do is wait for you to be gone. Most guns are stolen by people who know you have them. Not random acts of theft.

Most safes are cheap devices to keep your guns away from kids. That's probably what 99% of people need, so it's not necessarily a bad thing. Most any brand will work in your price range. If you have a valuable collection, you may want theft protection. If that is the case, there are only a few out there worth getting. AMSEC and Graffunder are two manufacturers I'd recommend for that purpose. As others have said, buy a safe rated for twice the number of guns you plan to put in it.

It's why I live in the country. Part of why, at least. And part of why I have a large dog.

I love the country, but the people I know who have had entire gun collections stolen live in the country, not the city. Around here, people will case your place and let you leave, then back a moving van up to your house and take their sweet time knowing they won't be bothered.

An alarm system tied to police/fire & your phone can be had for <$50 a month. It's a lot of peace of mind.

I've got a mid-range fireproof safe in the cellar that's bolted to the floor and the wall. I live on a dead-end road and I can only see two houses from mine (one of them belongs to the nosiest retired couple I've ever met). I lock my doors, I've got cameras at different spots on the property, and I've got a good-sized dog who doesn't like strangers. My town has no police force, but given the circumstances daylight robbery isn't high on my list of concerns. :notsure:

There's only so much you can do. Beyond that, if somebody wants to break in to your house and take your stuff, they're going to do it.

The coolest I've seen is a literal vault in a guys basement. I thought he was showing me a "safe," but it was a walk-in closet with a bank vault door. Of course, he had untold thousands invested in his stuff.

I've been thinking along those lines, but keep it hidden a bit. I have heirloom guns that have been in my family over 100 years, not huge value cash wise but I would sure hate to see them go. https://www.vaultprousa.com/vault-doors.html
