I read elsewhere that it will require cutting.

Does require cutting out the fat lip section of the bumper.

IMO, C4 killed it with this bumper. Seems well thought out and fantastic design. Can't wait to see one on a black Tacoma.

Yes the bumper must be cut, and the aluminum crash bar and other parts are removed from behind the bumper. There are natural lines in the plastic bumper to follow that make the cutting procedure fairly easy. There would be no way to fit a winch and light without cutting out the original plastic and removing all of these parts first. Because all of those parts are removed, our bumper provides a better approach angle since it does not stick out as far as the original lower plastic area. Here is a pic of what the plastic bumper looks like before the new Lo-Pro
    bumper is installed.

I'm not sure what DFW stands for.

    Thank you!

Question for ya. If one orders the Lo-Pro bumper without the winch support, would you still need to cut out the lip portion of the stock bumper?

Removing the aluminum crush bar totally ruined it for me. Unfortunately the hunt goes on. Very nice product but not worth all that has to be done to install it. Probably would have big issues with an insurance company if something was to happen and part of the structure was removed. Could open up some huge cans of worms for your company also.

Its an after market replacement bumper...who would think that you would not have to replace the factory bumper to do that? The aluminum crush can is the bumper under the plastic skin. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Trimming plastic is one thing. Removing the stock aluminum bumper reinforcement to install this is not an option for me. I would however love to see a write up on the install step by step. Curious how this adds structure after structure is removed. If it ties into the stock locations and acts as a solid replacement to the aluminum, it's an upgrade. I have to assume that's the case here.

Looks like you have no options, all aftermarket bumpers are going to remove the soft crumple zones. I wish I had some understanding of what you are thinking.

That I have no desire to cut up my brand new truck especially when I've yet to see a complete aftermarket bumper that actually fits. Every one I've seen doesn't conform to the grill at all and looks terrible. I love this as an option and maybe I'll come around but not yet. Also sure as hell not for $600+ Only reason they ask that price is they're the only ones making one. That'll change before long and the prices will become reasonable.

yes, all of the trimming has to be done no matter what. This bumper replaces everything behind it.

there really isn't much work involved to install it. It only takes about 30 minutes to remove the entire bumper cover, un bolt the crash bar and then re attach the bumper cover. Then it takes about an hour to do the plastic trimming and bolt on the bumper.

That is correct, you will have to replace the aluminum crash bar and other components to install any after market bumper that exists for these trucks or any other truck for that matter.

the only structure that the aluminum crash bar provides is to hold the flimsy plastic bumper cover in place. All of those parts get removed and replaced with our much stronger and more heavy duty bumper that attaches directly to the frame where the original crash bar brackets used to attach. This is standard procedure for any aftermarket bumper.

Shipping would be about 100 bucks.

This price IS already reasonable! Other companies who offer this same style bumper for 4runners are priced at 750.00 and up for a bare steel version. Prices will not be coming down any time soon. We will however be running some forum discounts and specials soon to get the product rolling. And if you are looking for a complete replacement option that follows the lines and actually looks good, we have that too....

    same shit as everyone else
It looks pretty and all but the lack of access to your winch line kinda makes it just that, pretty. You literally have to take the grille off to get to the spool. I see many kinked lines in the future.

The two large slotted holes in the front of the bumper are for access to the winch- problem solved.
