The wife is going to the Dixie Chick concert in Camden so I will have the kids most of the day. But I think I am going to head down to the Jeep Invasion on the beach in Wildwood. They alway have some cool venders and Rausch Creek builds the terrain course, there are just a lot of Jeeps. A beer does sound good though.

 

Maybe Ive been spoiled... My buddy has a the lincoln equivalent to the miller dynasty... Think its the invert something or other and he has a tig box as well. Thats what I learned on and have welded alot with. My other buddies lincoln 110 is just not the greatest even though its a $500 unit.

 

That could be it. Good tools make you forget how to use shitty ones. My Festool miter saw makes me never want to use my Dewalt again.

 

Sliders skids and rear bumper were welded with my 110 machine and I've bounced off rocks plenty with no issues. I also welded ladder bars for my old truck and spring and shackle mounts for a 3500 Chevy sas. No problems what so ever. I can do 3/16 with a single pass no questions asked. I've also done 1/4 single pass but everything has to be perfect. Anything thicker and I bevel the edges and run a good root pass and then multiple passes to fill it in or I get the stick welder out. And don't give me any shit about multiple passes because that's what you have to do to pass the certification tests

 

Oh yeah multiple passes is legit... The certs usually require a pass with stick and then a stack with a tig or another stick pass for pipe welding

 

My brother did these with my 110 Lincoln. One pass.

 

And my buddy welds gas pipe for PSE&G.

Ant welded my sliders the first time with 110. Most definitely can be done.

 

Can you provide the information where you go that? I had multiple certifications for structural and pipe welding. The certs are specific to what type of welding your getting certified in. Never in my life have I seen or heard of anyone taking a test using different welding methods in the same test. I'm gonna have to call bullshit on that one.

 

One of the schools down by me does that.
