True story. Mine sucks enough I think I might get a wrap on it with all my complaints and the emails from the dealership telling it's normal.

Great service here!! It's like they knew what I was thinking. Very attractive staff. However not open to the public (bummer).

 

Drive mine then,owned 9 Toyota's since 86 ,This transmission is not right.

 

I'm not saying it doesn't or can't exist. It's just a complete anomaly. It's not like other auto's if this is the case.

 

Simply not true. Read the articles I posted above written by professionals.

 

An anomaly would be if it was one person having these issues but it's not. It's MANY.

 

I get that, but it seems to be the only make and model I can think that has this issue.

I ordered a 2016 Tacoma TRD Off with a manual transmission after reading all the gripes about the autos. Before putting down a large chunk of money I just assumed that people were nit picking but I have to say that I too am disappointed with the continuing decline of Toyota quality. I've owned many and the quality does see to have gotten worse over the years.

I have 1700 miles on my truck which I've had for 2 weeks. 1100 were put on it in the last 2 days. I broke it in according to the procedure and I'm currently on a long road trip.

My differential howls like a banshee, my u-joints were bone dry, and the rear brakes pulse like a warped rotor. I also have the steering wheel vibration and the engine feels like it's either missing or not getting sufficient fuel between 1800 and 2000 rpm while under a light load. It also has significant rotational slop in the driveline. When going down hill and letting off the gas, there's a significant thunk as the slack is introduced into the differential and another severe thunk when you give it gas and I driveline has to surpass the slop to start applying power to the differential again. Every one in the truck can feel it. I'll be taking it in when I get home for a ever lengthening list of issues.

It's fun to drive and I'm not regretting my choice or threatening to trade it, but the quality control is sad.

 

Then I dont feel anything. Who gives a shit if someone likes one thing over another, do whatever y ou like. Which is why most of the posts on here are pointless. The facebook group is a joke.

 

That really would suck on a brand new vehicle. Hope you get it sorted out.

 

Us second gen trolls will wait a few years to buy the new model when all the bugs are worked out. Guess they are only making them on Mondays now.

 

so far, with 800kms on the clock, my taco is just as reliable as my 84 Pony 1600 GLS

 

I drove one of those. It could not even spin out on gravel. Loved the manual choke.

1984 Pony = 2016 Tacoma. Yah, that's about right.

 

Maybe you should get nice sedan or minivan.
