I paid $130 for the parts. It took me 30 minutes the first time i did it. I'm down to 10 minutes now. They have a competiton action kit (4ish lb trigger pull,),carry/ duty action kit with 5ish lb trigger pull both around $90. Polymer trigger $40, aluminum trigger $80. I have the comp action kit and polymer trigger on mine and it's a totally different gun then stock. I've fired both and they are both great just depends on your preference. They also have a forward set sear kit that is supposed to be like a 1911 trigger. Never fired that one. Apex tactical to read about the options.

heyyyyyy guyyyys? So i need some help with the front spring/shock replacement on my 5lugger. I feel like a giant tard asking for help with something so "simple" but i swear I've searched and searched and i cant find crap on 5lug coil replacement. The shock is easy, unbolts and slides right out. But the coil is another story. Do i need to separate the ball joint? And then do i need a spring compressor or something to keep shit from blowing up on me? and what about re-install with the new coils?

Feel free to flame away, but any actual help would be appreciated. There's about 9 million threads on coilovers, and struts, but jack shit on coil/shock replacement.

Nah. 1996. Ext cab 3.4L 5speed. I think I've found the answer. In a crusty old Chilton's manual I had laying deep in the depths of the garage. Looks like its spring compressor and ball joint separator like I feared.

@ffdawson I did a quick google search and someone said you can do the old trusty jack under the LCA instead of a spring compressor, but I think you still need to disconmet the BJ

 

Harbor Freight has a cheap BJ separator. Of you can rent from vatozone

 

I watched a few vids of that, seems semi do-able for the removal, but i feel like the re-install would get mega sketchy...
