Will you be looking to design something for the 3rd Gens?

I have recently been asked to look into the possibility. I had thought that there was no demand since all of the 3rd Gens I had seen at my local dealer had a lower plate mount as part of the bumper. After exchanging a PM with that TW member he said that some dealers use double sided tape to adhere that bracket to the bumper and some drill the bumper. Long story short, I agreed to check out a 3rd Gen by crawling under the front bumper and seeing how things look and if it might be possible to design a bracket. As of this post I have not yet managed to make it to the local dealer's lot to check it out. I might be able to do that this evening but I am not sure. If it is possible I will need to find someone local who has a 2016 so I can borrow the truck long enough to create a design, come up with a working prototype and create a template. I will post my findings to this thread once I figure out the feasibility of a bracket.

What are you guys doing if anything to plug off the old holes the dealer drilled into the bumper?

Just a quick update on a possible bracket for the 3rd Gen. I have been to the local dealership and crawled under the front of a 2016 truck. That prompted a fun explanation to the sales guy there. The short version is that I do believe I can make a bracket. There are a couple different locations I think the bracket could be mounted to. Having said that, the 2016 bumper sure sticks out a lot, likely making the bracket quite long . I still think it would be strong enough and would work. The next step would be finding someone with a 2016 that I could use to design, develop and test fit a bracket to. And that is where I am having the problem right now. I have asked in the Maine thread on TW if there was someone willing to let me "borrow" their truck for a couple hours to let it sit in my driveway while I used it to design a bracket. So far there have been no takers, even after I offered a free bracket for their time. I am keeping my eyes and ears open hoping I run into a 2016 owner locally who might be willing to help me, but no luck so far. But I am still trying and still hoping.

I would be there in a heartbeat if I was close to you. It's not about the free bracket but helping out another member here for the benefit of many 3rd gen owners.

image.jpg Visual proof that ACEkraut's license plate mount works with the bpf's skid plate. It fits like oj's real glove that the kardashian burned for him. It fits perfect with no issues! Thanks again. Ps license plate frame is not included lol

It didn't take me longer than 15 minutes to put it on. If you were local I would put it on for a sixer of Miller high life, nothing but the best

It will take him less time. He doesn't have a BPF Skid Plate to take off and he has a threaded captive nut to tighten into so he doesn't have to hold the nyloc nut.
