Completely stock trd sport dcsb. There is one parking lot entry way I pull into that has a bit of an incline/hump. When I approach the entry at an angle with the front passenger wheel hitting the hump first I hear an awful noise coming from the front of the vehicle. Sounds like the driver side but not sure.

I can take the same entry at same speed with my wife's passat with no issue at all.

I am not sure if this is a rubbing sound. Can't find any place that shows rubbing signs.

I know this is a long shot, but any ideas on what could be wrong?

    Thanks

I have the same noise on my sport but I have a 2.75" lift and ko2 - 275 tires with spidertrax spacers on mine. i didn't expect to hear any rubbing anywhere, but at a certain incline/ angle, i get a very weird noise from under the front. sorry this doesn't help fix it, but your not alone in the problem.

I got my Tacoma lifted two inches (changed front springs, shocks, and UCA), removed the air dam, and put on slightly bigger tires...and I still have this same noise. Something real weird going on under the vehicle when I hit this entrance at a certain angle. Diagnosing this one has so far been a challenge.

Have someone be outside to observe better where the noise is coming from.

Should have bought an off-road :p lol no noises from mine on any incline. May not seem like I'm trying to help, but I am. If it's not happening with mine, then your problem might have something to do with your sport package. Suspension or shocks or something else the sport has that the off-road doesn't. I was thinking the diffuser too, but y'all took yours off and have the same problem. Have no clue what it could be.

That's an excellent idea. That's what I'd do.

This is probably not going to make sense, but it's the ABS unit. It's the same noise when the ABS activates.

Interesting you say that. Did some testing this afternoon. Only seems to happen when brakes applied. But it sure sounds harsh for abs engaging.

yeah, only when brakes are on and from what I can tell no where near when ABS should be applying.. but it's there.

Crawl control uses the ABS unit, and here's a video of the sound (fast forward to about 6 minutes)
