Nope and I won't be hacking up my truck. I'll go with more lift or different wheels to avoid rubbing before I do any cutting.

With what you're proposing you most likely won't really need to chop it. Some people rub a little, others don't. Depends on tire choice, wheel offset and how it's aligned. I'd save a touch more and get the correct set of wheels and ditch the spacers. They're hard on hubs and can be dangerous if not maintained.

I went with Spider Trax to have the "best" when it comes to spacers. Spacers don't put any more or less stress on hubs than a wheel with less back spacing does. I do intent to torque every nut and bolt to spec including lugs and the spacers will be checked after 50 miles and again 100 miles after that and then with every 5000 miles with my oil changes since i'll rotate tires at that point anyway. I do agree, aftermarket wheels would be ideal simply because they're much less work. It's not about the money at all, I honestly just love my stock dark satin SR wheels. The 285/75 is 33x11.22 which is 2" taller and 3/4" wider than stock TRDOR tires. With 3" of lift and the 1.25" spacer, I don't think i'll any issues. I'm going to test fit with out the spacers first and if I don't need them, I won't be running them. I'm going mild, something like the AT2 so nothing that's over sized or has big side lugs. It'll be a little bit before I do this simply because I don't want to pull my brand new tires off just yet. Just rolled a whopping 750 miles lol.

I've never been to a Mr. Tire that had a clue at all. I would avoid them at all costs, period. You're better off at Walmart

yeah. also, when you tell me that your throwing in an alignment for free with my new set of tires, then turn around and charge me for it, tends to not make repeat customers.

Everything you states is absolutely true. As long as you retorque studs off you're fine. I ran spacers on my Tacoma but was diligent about checking torque. A lot of people get lazy, then the tire pops off and they wreck their truck. I ran the same spacers, with the stock 17" TRD wheels with no issues. Had 265/70-17 BFG Rugged Terrains with no lift. Had very minor rubbing at full lock on inner plastic fender.

The key is clean steel! Brush where you will weld really well with wire brush or even better a wire wheel on a grinder, then wipe with acetone. Do all that, with practice and you'll be stacking dimes and cashing checks.

yeah, i picked up a 4" angle grinder, a few cutoff wheels, two grinding wheels and a flap disc, i figure that should be good for the prepwork, ill pick up some acetone now that you reminded me.

You will burn through flap discs like nobody's business. Hop on eBay or Amazon, and start buying them by the box. It's an amazing tool, but they don't last long.

And spidertrax spacers are the fantastic....aftermarket wheels (that people get for the offset to fit bigger tires) have a very poor lip angle compared to Toyota factory alloys. What does that mean? At lower tire pressures for wheeling, it is much easier to pop a bead on an aftermarket wheel than a factory alloy. Been running spidertrax spacers with my factory wheels for 6 years. I'll keep using these wheels until I get bead locks.

Took my wife out to dinner tonight in Little Italy. I found out that the restaurant in the pic is owned by the Gambino family. As you would imagine i had a lot of compliments on my car there. 1 big older Italian guy in a suit was telling me how many bodies fit in the trunk then he said "don't ask me how i know", lol. Saw Jim Palmer walking around down there. He was posing for pics with a bunch of Blue Jay fans.

We buy the Benchmark Abrasive discs from Amazon. Cheaper than the ones from Harbor Freight, a lot stiffer and last 3-4 times longer.
