    Not enough...
So it appears that my battery is dead after 23 months.

Truck started fine last night I moved it from the parking spot into the garage around 9pm.

This morning the battery was dead, so I figured I didn't close the door or something something. Jumped it and went on with my day. Drove about a mile down io Starbucks, got my drink. Started fine and drove about 8 miles to see a client. Spent maybe 20 minutes there, came out and it won't start again.

ScanGauge shows 13.4 volts so it appears alternator is working all right. Not sure if something draining the battery, but I turned off the breaker that I have in front of my aux fuse panel, so it should not be any of that. How can I test if something is draining the battery?

But I guess it possible that the battery is shot after 2 years. What's the best battery I can get?

You might be experiencing a parasitic drain on your battery , I would get the DVM and check ea circuit in the fuse box and see if there's a circuit allowing battery voltage drain over a set period of time

It's possible that it just died. Sometimes batteries in a hot environment, and subjected to stop and go driving, or other things that can create a lot of underhood heat will cook in as short as 18 months or so, but some will go 5 years! Hard to say...

Mine lasted 2 years/31k. Died without warning. Drove fine to work, drove from work to a stop on the way home and it wouldn't start when I got back in. No clicky. No nothin'. Jumped it and went to dealership. Tested as a bad cell. Replaced under warranty.

You can also use at home a battery tender and keep the battery charged when not in use

Yep. Went to NAPA they tested it and there are dead cells. And of course today is Sunday, so the dealer is closed till tomorrow. I guess I'm just gonna buy a battery tender so I could start the truck tomorrow and drive it to the dealer. I have an extended warranty. These fuckers better honor it and give me a new battery

Thanks everyone for help! Really appreciate it!

Batteries hate hot climates, they have short life spans when warmer as opposed to winter states.

I personally like interstate batteries from my 15 years of experience and the ability to warranty them anywhere that sells them in Canada or US. Stock batteries suck, I always change them after 5 years regardless of performance.

Yeah, its been hot as shit her lately. Plus my garage is on the sunny side, so even when its 70 outside, it gets to 90-95 inside the garage.

True. But I live in Minnesota. And it gets parked in a garage. And I have no aftermarket electrical nothing on my truck. I'd expect any battery to last longer than 2 years.

They'll replace it under warranty but they'll have to charge it for 45 minutes and do some other testing before they do it. Drop it off. I waited in the lobby 2 hours for my warrantied battery. They don't just swap it and send you on your way. I pulled in the shop bay and shut it off. The guy asked what I was in for. I said You'll find out when you try to move it. They had to jump it to get it out of their way.

I would think a battery would last longer than 2 years. They should replace it. But they may come with "it's a consumable part". And expect you to pay for it. At that point I would leave and go buy a Interstate battery!

Ask 100 people this and you'll get a variety of answers all based on their experience. Someone else may not share their opinion.

Dealers sell a replacement battery called TrueStart. My experience with them has not been good. You can buy a better battery than what the dealer offers in a number of places. Good luck.

my 2014 OEM battery just died at 30K miles. A little early IMO. So I bought an X2 AGM battery to replace it, and would have gone for an Odyssey but they were hard to find locally. I read a ton of battery posts and from the collective feedback I read it seems that the only AGM batteries worth buying were X2 and Odyssey and the more inexpensive Duralast from Autozone got lots of praise.

I just replaced my stock battery in my '06, ten years later.

I put in an Odyssey AGM. I would have gone with North star, but they were out of stock at the time. Other good agm batteries from my research are diehard platinum (discontinued), and some people like optima, but there has been a lot of talk of rapidly declining quality in the last year or so.

If you don't know, agm batteries are different from regular batteries in that they can generally be mounted in almost any direction, they are sealed, so don't need to be vented or refilled, and can withstand deep cycling without damaging your battery

    Check your interior dome lamp!

Seriously, I was having the same problem for the last few weeks. Battery wouldn't start in the morning sometimes...
Found a heavy (.75 amp) current draw when everything was "off".

Somehow my dome lamp switch got shoved over to the ON position. I'm the only driver and I know I didn't turn it on. Must have knocked it when loading some stuff into my back seats...

The problem is that when driving you really can't see the dome light, and when outside of the truck, the door is open so it SHOULD be on... I haven't driven at night in quite a while either...
