I'd call ES:O a 'meh' rather than a miss

It reminds me of SW:ToR in a way. Pretty, 'fun', slap-dick easy and frankly easy to forget. Engaging storyline while you're playing it, but 30 seconds after you log out you've pretty much stopped caring.

It isn't *bad*. It's just not great. If you're looking to play for 30-60 minutes and not worry about it until next weekend, it's right up your alley. But if you're looking for a deep, rich, shared MMO experience, it feels kinda shallow.

I was stunned to accidentally win without fighting, let's put it that way.

 

IMO skyrim was way better than fo4 other than there isn't settlement crafting. But it's been years since I've played it so I could go for a new refresh

Can't wait. The vault tec dlc sounds cool too! That was the first I've heard about it.

 

And the contraptions part makes me giggle. I'm making an acre-sized, five story, rube-goldberg-esque decapitated head ballista at some point, I can feel it

I couldn't get into fallout shelter. No matter what I did everything went wrong. I played maybe 2 weeks

 

I've never played it

 

It took me restarting three times to figure it out that I had to max out each room before adding another or you run out of resources fast and can't recover. Once I figured that out, it was fun (relatively). Looks like the FO4 Vault DLC is just a grown up version of Fallout Shelter. Looks fun.

The Fallout 4 Vault DLC looks to be a way to add more settlements beyond the designated ones in the game perhaps

 

In the video you posted, they briefly show the Survivor building vaults and filling them with vault dwellers and equipment (showing the dwellers on exercise equipment). That's pretty much the premise of Fallout Shelter. You act as the Overseer to build rooms that make resources and "train" your dwellers S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats.

I hope you're correct. If they make it possible to treat the new vaults as a settlement and allow us to extend supply lines to our existing settlements, that would be great.

 

Yeah , I meant if you could link the vaults by trade routes to your terrestrial settlements they would basically become extra settlements

 

So I think my game is fucked.

I'm doing 'Battle of Bunker Hill'. I had been fussing around in between Minutemen and Railroad faction, playing just enough with the Institute to advance the storyline a bit.

So the big fight comes. I plan with Desdemona to wipe out the entire attacking Institute force and be the only one left, and to get the four trapped synth runaways out afterwards.

The big fight starts, and of COURSE BoS shows up. I pop 2 vertibirds out of the sky, 5 BoS t-60b suits (got 2 full ones by sniping out the fusion cores), and all the synth attackers from the institute. The Railroad lost 3 or 4 heavies, but that's it

I go into the basement after cleaning up outside, and....it's weird. Everyone's immortal, and I can't get into VATS at all except when there's a grenade thrown, and all I cgn target is the grenade. No matte rwhat weapon I use to shoot ANYONE, nothing happens. The only non-immortal is me, and that's to the machine gun turrets. The NPCs (BoS and railroaders) have been going full tilt boogie at each other in that underground room for almost an hour now. I can't get the storyline / quest to advance, the synths will only say 'Thank you!' when spoken to.

Tried saving and reloading, leaving and coming back in, can't seem to get around this one.

 

Finished far harbor tonight. Love the sledge from atom.

 

The first time I saw an alpha hermit crab with it's ass in half a bus I LOL'd so hard my buddy came to make sure I was OK.

The atom folks pissed me off something fierce, though, so...they're not a thing any more.

 

Headed that way now in FH... they got on my nerves on the mainland, so... Time to wipe them out.

 

Have you gotten the sub code yet?

Not gonna spoiler it, but you should. There's killing them, and then there's killing them. Like, salting the earth and pissing on it for good measure, too

 

I did it peaceful just like I did the main story. Keep the options open.

Now it's time to play some ds3 before the next expansion comes out
