    Nothing permanent, really. Just a thought for the occassional hauling of wide wood panels for DIY projects and big furnitures that won't fit in the bed like mattresses and box springs.

    They'll work well for that application. If you want something a little stronger, check out our XRXS bars.

    Now that's more like it! I don't know how I missed that on your site. Would you happen to know how strong the cleats+railings are? I have a tonneau cover (soft roll up), and there are spacers between the railings and the bed (more or less an inch). I wonder if that halved the load capacity of the cleats+rails.

    I'd be more worried about the crossbar not fitting. You may have to drill new mounting holes in the crossbar because of the spacers.

    :annoyed::facepalm:

    I guess I'm SOL at this point if I won't get rid of the soft cover. But do you think it's possible to simply drill new holes? Won't the length of the bar be an issue, as well?

    Man, this 117F weather ain't helping at all. What a pain it is to measure the width of my side rails with no shade! :frusty:

    Exactly 55" from edge to edge. Pictures below are not edge to edge, though (just for reference).

    The XRXS bar is 55.5" wide, so it wouldn't even fit between your cleat rails.

    JHCole, can you take a few pictures from underneath so I can see how you mounted the tire mount?

    Realized I never actually posted up in here reviewing these!

    From placing my order to receiving them, everything went smooth. The packaging arrived a little damaged, but that's on UPS (I think that was a carrier). All the hardware is very nice, and everything lines up perfectly. I got them as a storage solution, and if I need to throw anything bigger into the bed, everything comes out in one piece in just a few minutes. Total weight is like 50 pounds with an empty basket, and will handle a load in the basket just fine! Would order again!!
