I just had a Pyrite Mica SnugTop Rebel installed on my 2010 DC PreRunner this morning. The color matches pretty good IMO but you can notice a slight variation up close (shell is slightly darker). I was told up front that there is no 100% color match guarantee but that SnugTop will paint it as close to the factory paint as they can.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the look and quality of this shell. Here are some quick pics I took with my BlackBerry:

Now take it to the DMV and tell them you have a shell on the back. It'll save you the $80 weight fee on subsequent registrations.

If I might ask, how much did it cost?

Thanks for the replies. The cost was $1706 OTD and I'll definitely look into the DMV registration savings.

In California, all pickup trucks are considered commercial vehicles and as such, pay a weight fee that other vehicles do not, including SUVs. The exception is if you put a shell on the back of the truck. Then it can be registered as a standard vehicle.

The fee is based on the weight of the truck. Big trucks like Ford F-250s can run about $150 in extra fees on top of the registration cost. The weight fee for our truck is $80 per year. My registration last year was about $425 last year, including the weight fee (about $340 without it).

THAT SUCKS. I coulda paid like 150 for a two year registration. I think I paid like 200 total for all three of my vehicles.

I know that NYS registers all pickup trucks as commercial but all you have to do is tell them that it's a private truck and they'll change it...No need to put a shell on it or anything.
