So both of my boots looks like this. Not dripping or anything but their is def. something going on.

What all do I need to replace? Should I just do the whole axle or do new boots?

thats the steering rack not an axle, if its leaking you can pick up a new rack to replace that, or you might be able to rebuild it

It has been like shown for a couple of years. and the fluid was showing no metal flakes in the reservoir

    What would be your advice?

Don't worry about it unless the boot is full of fluid. That's just the exterior and could be from something else.

If you are not having to add power steering fluid, then there is nothing to worry about.

    Drive and enjoy.

My tie rod boot on my passenger side has looked like that for quite some time now. No loss of fluid from the power steering reservoir. Pretty sure mine was caused by a ripped cv axle boot flinging axle grease.

I'd clean it up personally, I thought I had a oil leak when I first bought my truck but couldn't trace it down, clean the shit out of.it and found out it was cause by a loose oil filter go figure it was running back towards the tranny...until.i cleaned it I had no idea... gunk off engine cleaner and a brass brush works great together just wear some gloves as it eats the shit out of your skin!!!!!!

I have a Uniden PRO 520 XL CB. I have seen someone mount the same CB where the ash tray goes.
I want to mount mine in the same place and I know there will be some cutting required.
Can someone that knows about this, or has mounted one in this location please walk me through it or give me some help?

    Brian
