Not really. Look a year back. There was still lots of chatter in the run up to the draft and free agency. Now with all the fanboys who took over though, yeah it's kind of dead in here. It'll come back but I was surprised at how many Pens fans that had never commented here before ended up posting here hourly during the final round. Now they're all to drunk in moms basement to post... apparently anyways.

 

I'm a pens fan, I don't follow every single thing that goes on in the nhl...too much other shit to worry about.

I'll be back in May don't you worry guys!!

Hearing about this. So hopeful that this occurs!!! George (and his ugly ass skinny suits) needs to go back to interviewing teen heart throbs......and leave the hockey to hockey people!!

 

I gather George wasn't pulling in the beautiful kids as much as he was frightening away the regulars.

Seems odd to me that if a player chooses to depart for Russia that his team would take a cap hit on his contract.

 

His NHL contract stays valid

 

I'd imagine the price for a $7.5 million dollar salary dump is fairly high. Probably higher than a Detroit team with savvy drafting skills would want to pay.

Stamkos isn't going to Detroit IMHO. They are a middle end team. I see Stamkos either going to a team anticipated to turn the corner, where he knows he will be the Captain and leader no questions asked, or even more likely to a team that is already contending.

Yeah TO under payed by a long shot. Calgary and several other teams will not be happy that they weren't in on that. In all likelihood the trade was made because it won't hurt the Ducks. TO isn't in their conference and they have traded a few times before. The trades do always seem to be lopsided toward TO though...
