I'm doing a custom 6.5CM build right now! Have barrel / action / trigger all back from short action customs, waiting on my McMillan stock. AK for scale :quickdraw:

Thanks man! I live in WA state and our SBR conversion law is coming BACK after it went away for a while. In July it's turning into a two stamp rifle, for now it's still a pistol configuration.
    -AAC upper and lower
    -KAC rail and panels
    -10.5 Daniels Defense CHF barrel
-Eotech xps2.0 and vortex 3x magnifier
    -AAC SDN6 can
-magpul pistol grip with SBR angle
    -magpul pro irons
    -magpul afg2
    -Noveske barricade stop
    -few other things
    EDIT:
Almost forgot, has a Geissele SSA-E 2 stage trigger, chrome moly AAC BCG, and Bravo Company mod 3 charging handle.

I have been receiving shipments of ammo at my business almost everyday for the past month. I wonder if my FedEx guy thinks i'm some sort of nutjob after seeing all the blue" ORM-D Small Arms Cartridges" stickers?!

I have a few of the pistols on your list (have had most of them).
My preference falls to the HKs (Not a full out fanboi, I enjoy many different guns), I have a USP 9 compact (V1) that is my end all be all gun, it get's my "if it was the only," vote.
Next to that I carry a P2000sk LEM (V4 lighter Firing pin block spring). Truly a handy little gun, carries like a G26/27 (slight heavier) can go home add a compact light and a 15 round mag with grip sleeve and its an amazing do all gun. I love it enough to add a P2000 LEM (V4) in 357sig for the Taco.

Best of luck out there in Comiefornia

It's supposed to have the ballistics of an AK with the accuracy of the AR. I haven't shot it yet but have heard good things about it. Considering how much it cost I hope I'm not disappointed. I put Magpul flip ups on it yesterday. I'm hoping to have optics on it by the time I take it to a friends deer lease this weekend.

There's a fine line we must tip-toe to discuss this issue. I hope I'm not crossing it here. If so, I'll happily discuss via private message if it keeps the forum running more smoothly. This Baby Boomer's hokey (and lengthy as all heck) intro and outro aside, it's a truly reasonable idea. Myself and all my friends had to take a hunter's safety course in ninth grade before we could join our dads and uncles in the woods and fields back home. My dad is a lifetime LEO as well as a die-hard conservative, while I consider myself socially radical yet politically moderate. We disagree on most topics but we are both Pro-gun. We both agree that in light of engineering and mechanical progressions over the last 200 years, the 2nd Amendment needs some revisions. We are responsible gun owners and don't know a "Gun Nut" between us. We both agree there should be more extensive background checks, required licensing and testing as well as mandatory secure storage for firearms in the home for the safety of children. Neither of us think it government overreach to consider these options. I'd like to see your rebuttal to the above posted opinion piece. Feel free to PM me if you'd prefer that avenue. I am interested in discussing this topic with other gun owners. Among my local city friends, only one is a gun owner. Back home is another story.

    I'll stir it up some.

A written and physical test is required for getting a driver's license. I have no issues with the same for a firearm. I have a Firearms Permit from my home state. It did not require any range time to get the first time either. I think it should, but it doesn't. Folks like myself that were driving a standard tranny by the time we were 13 around the farm were also dropping squirrels and deer by then, too. I took my DL exam in a 5-speed Dodge the LEO giving the test couldn't believe it. I can break down and reassemble, from memory, maybe 70% of what I have for a 'field cleaning'.

Why not require a permit to purchase firearms from FFL dealers? The side buys and hand-me-downs can't be regulated and that's proven. But to go into a store and walk out with only a state issued background check really isn't working. To make the process even easier, tie the DL and FP in together on the same card. You can't have the latter without the prior type deal. Mine are separate and require two different trips to the DMV and highway patrol to renew. I have many guns, but no AR types as they just don't appeal to me. There are many other that will grace my rack before an AR does. But that's just me.

That'd definitely be best of both worlds! Would love a range report once you get a decent round count. My guess is you'll get similar ballistics to super sonic .300blk out of a 16" barrel. When I'm not running a can I usually use Barnes 167gr black tips .300, very similar gr weight to standard AK rounds, but I've never put them through a rifle length barrel.

Your rifle definitely deserves son decent short-mid range glass/optics :).
