    After the misadventure in Brown County Indiana, we decided to take the rest of the day and go have some fun. That led us to cross the Madison Indiana to Milton Kentucky bridge and then 20 minutes south to Dirty Turtle Park for a little 4 wheelin that DIDN'T involve dragging a dead Nissan. When we got there, we found that Derby City Jeepers were having their start of summer picnic. Must have been 50 highly modded Jeeps. I sorta fell in love with one (that had a for sale sign on it.....Wife says I didn't really like it that much. Boo. ) Then there was the usual 200 or so ATV's and SXS's, replete with rednecks without helmets, just turned around baseball caps and no shirts.....

    The trails @ DTOR all have 1-way signs....Apparently when you get a SxS or ATV, you develop dyslexia for signs....Dang near EVERY ONE OF 'EM were going against the signs and cussing us for "being in their way". Let 'em cuss.... One had a tattoo on his back that said it best...."UNCOMMON BREED"

    I had the ONLY Toyota on the property. Caught a lot of looks for that too.

    I feel some sense of being home again when I'm there. Back in 1990, me and 49 of my closest motorcycle buddies bought that place, started our club grounds for our dirt bike club (Woodsmen MC) and held Hare Scrambles there. Me and one other guy broke trails where no one had ever been on a motorized vehicle. That trail is now what is the "perimeter trail" around the outside edge of the property. Some time around 2000, they sold the property and bough BETTER ground just down the road a piece. That's when DTOR became an off road park.

    It sure wasn't RRG, but we had fun anyway.....

    We took a friend in his Jeep XJ, who'd never been behind the wheel off road. He took a woman and her 2 kids who'd just recently lost her husband/kids father to cancer. They had the time of their lives. I tried a couple pretty gnarly hills. made one, spun out and slid backwards down the other....Nothing quite like going backwards, out of control, wheels sliding, and down a hill about 200'. That made for enough excitement for one day. We made it home around 4PM yesterday. That was about 27 hours from when the Nissan recovery mission started.....I was slap worn out.....
