I have a 2012 toyota tacoma I recently had the condenser replaced because it was damaged by a rock while driving down the highway . After I got my truck out of shop it worked great, however 2months down the road my driver side vent blows cool while the rest of the vents blow hot. I live in Texas and its June im sure i dont need to tell u how it is here in the middle of June. My mechanic that replaced the condenser says its a motor that works the ac flaps to the vents. I'm not certain this is correct information. Does anyone know what would make my trucks ac act this way? Please Please Please HELP any info would be GREATLY appreciated.

I think your mechanic is correct. Haven't had it happen on my Tacoma, but I owned a GMC that had that issue.

Proper charge has nothing to do with your described issue.

Air direction from the air flow dampers does. Just like the mechanic said.

beg to differ. Mine was low on charge and the drivers side vent read 55 on IR thermometer and the vents gained 10-12 degrees moving left to right. After recharge they all read consistent in the 40s on a 95 degree day at idle. I believe that OP has a leak somewhere after condenser replacement.

Just throwing my .02 cents out there. I had an issue like this a few years back. Driver's side blew cold while middle and passenger side was warm. I was not charged up all the way and after having an A/C shop do a proper charge all was good. Every vent blew cold like it should.

Just have them double check the charge is good and they shouldn't make you pay anything for that. If indeed the charge is where it should be, then your mechanic is probably correct and its something with the internal flaps.

Have your charge checked. The charge is more than likely low.
