Inclusion of Seven was a conscious decision by the producers to attract more viewers, and it worked lol. Kes was originally supposed to have provided the necessary T&A for the show, but that obviously didn't work out.

Cheesy is what I thought about the Enterprise theme song, haha. I wish they hadn't had some whiny guy singing that emotionally charged cheerleader crap. They should've just stuck with a purely instrumental theme like all the other series.

TNG definitely had some serious cheese though.

Couldn't stand Hoshi - hot, but a horrible character played by a bad actress. On the other hand, I couldn't stand dr crusher-centered TNG episodes (although she was fine in small doses) or Geordi's stupid love story eps - stick to warp cores, LaForge.

Hahaha! Totally agree on the rose-colored glasses. That's why my favorite episodes are Best of Both Worlds parts 1 and 2. Shelby was annoying at first, but gets better once she gets knocked off her high horse. Otherwise, awesome episodes.

So how do y'all think the new movies are going to proceed without Anton? Will they kill off Chekov, replace the character, or get a new actor? Tough to make a call with respects to what Anton added to the character.

I would just replace him and move on. Either with a new character or the same. It wouldn't bother me either way.

I watched them all TNG, DS9, Voyager. They were all great in their own time. Each season ran for seven years.

So much imagination. I liked the war with the dominion in DS9. The struggle with the Borg in Voyager was excellent. I enjoyed that very much.

I liked that really dark pair of episodes in Voyager, when they met another stranded federation ship and crew who were secretly harvesting alien lifeforms for power generation in their reactor core, and crew were slowly being picked / killed off.

I also remember that episode where that race that was out of phase, was conducting weird scientific medical experiments on the crew of the voyager without their knowledge.

True enough. Can't stop the Trek machine. Wouldn't bother me either. May be weird at first with a replacement, but I'll get over it - he was good, but I didn't think he was an end-all Scotty

Parents are huge Trekkies, and I guess some of it rubbed off. Seen all of TOS, all of the films with the original cast, TNG & their films, and most of Voyager and DS9. Never seen any of the 'Enterprise' episodes, and I haven't seen the new JJ Abrams movies, though. Rewatching TNG on Netflix when the GF isn't home (she can't stand Star Trek; doesn't understand it) for the last few weeks, actually. But I'm only averaging an episode a week, ish. At this rate it'll take me a long time to work through them all

I may have had to adjust my pants the first time they showed the Enterprise E on the big screen in First Contact, lol.

"The inner light" was one of my favorite episodes on TNG.

Equinox. One of my favorites as well.

I just watched "thirty days" where Tom Paris was demoted & incarcerated.

Part of me is going to miss this once I'm through all 7 seasons.

About 8-9 years ago I went to the Las Vegas Hilton with my with wife and we went through the whole Star Trek experience they had there. The attraction had two "rides" one was Enterprise D related and the other was called "The Borg Experience". It's gone now as far as I know but it was honestly the highlight of my trip being a guy who doesn't gamble or drink.

Does anyone else hate Wesley Crusher as much as I did growing up?

His character always bothered me so much. I still to this day have a hard time watching episodes that revolve around him.

Agreed. Will Wheaton still comes off as a douche. See "Big Bang theory"
The only thing he was good in was Stand By Me.

I agree. I can't stand him in Big Bang Theory either. I totally forgot he was in Stand By Me.

I always liked the technical aspect of the all the different Star Trek series. It was fun finding all the faults and inconsistencies in the scripts.

Take warp speed as an example.

In the original series the Enterprise exceeded warp 10 went warp 11 when Nomad was manipulating the engines to make them more efficient.

In an episode of The Next Generation that took place in the past, present and future, the Enterprise was given a third nacelle so it could keep up with the more modern ships that could go warp 15.

And finally in Star Trek Voyager, warp 10 was regarded as the absolute speed limit and if you did manage to reach warp 10, you would have infinite velocity meaning you went all directions simultaneously instantly. Captain Janeway and Paris did manage to go warp 10 and a side effect of this was "accelerated evolution" and they turned into big salamanders. This of course is totally ridiculous since evolutionary changes are not predetermined and result from external stimuli such as environmental change, living conditions, etc.

Maybe I just think too much? I hope the Pakleds never abduct me so I can make them go.
