Okay, I'll create a simple one and post the pdf.
I know, with that lens section in the middle it spreads really wide.

I had the 35w 5500k version. Very noticeable. Some have said the 4500k doesn't show as much.

Hey everyone I don't have a 2016 Toyota Tacoma, but I experienced the exact same issue with the Morimoto XB35 5500k H11B HID kit on my 2016 Honda Accord (with halogen projectors) so I just wanted to share everything with you guys. I did not find any bigger discussion concerning this specific issue than here.

I bought these HIDs since everyone were telling they were awesome & that the quality of these HIDs was excellent, so I paid the money to get them without knowing what was lurking around the corner....

I installed them the same day I received them, everything looked awesome....until I drove like 2 minutes to experience the first bounce. Every cracks or big bumps made them shake...this got me crazy.

    Here's a few thing I noticed :

    • This is not about bad cable/ballast connections
    • This is not about the ''arc'' shaking in the bulb
    • This is not about your projectors being loose
    • Swapping OEM grommets will not solve the issue
    • OEM bulb is 100% tight with the metal tabs, while Morimoto bulb is not snug.
    • Quick test tips : closing your hood sould make the bulbs shake

I tried everything, there's something wrong with the spacing between the plastic tabs and the grommet on these bulbs OR you would need one hell of a taller & harder grommet to fix the issue...but that doesn't seem to be the case after I saw replacement grommets they were sending to the members on here.

That's it, I paid 200$ CAD only to get crazy about this damn bulb shake problem.

I finaly returned the whole kit to get my money back and move on to something else. Please STOP buying this kit, something is wrong with their bulbs...otherwise you'll get crazy watching your big money made in china HID kit boucing all over the place.

EDIT: I'm about to test other brands & try to find an H11B kit that doesn't bounce...if someone find something before me, please report on here!

This is my meager tutorial and it's not really fully featured since my purpose was to kind of document what I was doing rather than to create a step-by-step.

New Tacoma owner and my first post. Coming from a WRX with HIDs, I'm disappointed in the Halogens on the truck. Reading through the thread, it looks like the kit was for sale but now it's not -- is that due to the bouncing? Is it worth waiting at this point and maybe only update the fogs?

I just checked the site and the H11b kits are still there.

Welcome to TW! TRS makes good top quality stuff, but don't discount halogens as they can out perform the alternatives:

Sorry, I meant on the front page link -- it was down.

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely read through those. I was happy with the level of output from my OEM HIDs on the WRX vs. the OEM halogens that originally came with it.. I have some night vision issues and it really brightened everything up for me.

The link works, but add "s" to http: https://www.theretrofitsource.com/hid-systems/morimoto-elite-hid-system-2016-tacoma.html
    Their redirect is broken...

So I know the group buy is clearly done, no problem. I searched but might have missed it. Is there an LED kit for the High Beams?

    Low's:
    https://www.theretrofitsource.com/hid-systems/morimoto-elite-hid-system-2016-tacoma.html
    Fogs:
    https://www.theretrofitsource.com/c...morimoto-xb-led-fog-lights-toyota/category/4/

Also, I've seen this done on 2015's and below, but has anybody figured out a relay that will allow High's + Fogs, or even High's + Low's + Fogs? I'd be interested in some combination other than High's only.

I take it the 25% code from the other TRS thread doesn't work on this stuff?

Are the original fog lights also H11B as well?
I rather buy 2 HID kits than the LED Fog Lights that cost just as much.

    Any promotions coming up?
Authorized Morimoto Dealer http://www.distantxtremes.com/ always has promos going on.

However, I'd like to buy from a TW vendor. Let us know

Curious what an HID kit in factory housings vs these LED looks like. Price is about the same and can get a warmer color out of HID's.

You cannot put HIDs in a halogen reflector. They will scatter light everywhere, including oncoming vehicles and back at the driver in fog, defeating the primary purpose of the light. The reason why the XB LEDs work is they have a new lens and housing, designed for LEDs.
