Finally got around to soldering all my connections.
Did I get it right ? Only one I wasn't sure was the orange striped wire to blue wire...[/QUOTE]

Why is the blue speedwire tapped in to a speaker wire rather than the red wire? What are you using the 9th wire for?

The blue speed wire (9th wire) isn't tapped into or soldered to anything. It's just sitting in the bundle unused. I'm not going to be running a processor of any kind so don't need the power wire. I'm wiring the speaker wire to the amps high level input.

You could use the 9th wire for your remote wire. You would just add it to the red switched power wire.

Yeah I was thinking about asking on this. The amp apparently turns on automatically when it senses signal. Is it worth running the remote wire just in case to be on the safe side ?

Well it's already ran for you inside the speedwire so I guess you could give the signal sensing a shot and if it doesn't work you could hook up the remote wire.

Has anyone ever run a 2nd speedwire from the amp back to the factory harness and used existing factory speaker wire? Honestly, I'll likely have the front ones unplugged/ unused and just solder in a connection to the crossovers from the speedwire. I want to make use of the factory wiring to the rear speakers, as I've already gotten the speakers soldered in to the OEM speaker wire in the rear doors.

    I haven't but I don't see why you couldn't do that.

Well I'm doing it then. Got all my wiring done today and mock up of amp rack. Just need to install fronts and pull some cable.

Looks good. Hopefully the sub doesn'thit the pocket when it is moving. I like your amp rack.

Thanks man. Appreciate you responding. I'm going to put a wedge under it so it clears the front of the pocket, although there's about an inch in front of it now. That Pioneer sub looks like it's made for the truck. Hope it sounds good, but I'm leaving plenty of wiring back there so I have some options. I may pull out the plastic and go for a ported box/ amp rack down the road. Thought I'd try this for now, and I have high hopes.

I'm running a Mr. Marv setup that I bought in the For Sale section.

    Arc Audio XDI805 5-Channel Amplifier
Claris 6.5's up front and the Mirus 5.25s in the back along with the other stuff you see here.

That's a really good idea. I think it will sound great. It's not a problem at all and I'm glad to help. Can't wait to see it all done.

Maybe I missed it, but where did you find a spot to mount the crossovers? I pulled off the tweeter grate today and see that there's room in there but it would be hard to get in there to mount them without pulling the whole dash. I was thinking maybe zip ties. I'm really trying not to make any rattles.

On the drivers side I tucked the left crossover up behind the wires up close to the firewall and the right one I tucked it behind the center console at the floor. There is a perfect little spot for it there. I haven't had any issues with any rattling from either of them.

Do you think there's room to mount 2 crossovers under the center console?

I think it depends on how big they are. I tired to get both of them in that little nook behind the center console and they wouldn't fit.

Try using velcro instead of quick-ties. it works great.

You could make a little board to house the crossovers/LOC/Small amp like I did:

    IMG_5688.jpg

All wired up it fits snuggly under the passenger seat enough where peoples feet won't be mashing on your equipment.

Its an Image Dynamics MQ150.2. Powers my front door speakers/tweeters only. Quality little piece... I am an Image Dynamics fan to the core tho.
