That's what I did and I see nada. They must both be in backwards somehow.

Even while off if you turn on your headlights they should come on. Make sure you turn them back off before trying to reinstall them, lest you blow a fuse by accident. It's really easy to get the polarity on any of these wrong, so always check before reinserting or covering back up, because you don't want to have to do the same thing more than twice. Also, make sure that if you have the kind that has wires on the bottom, that they aren't bent towards the sides but straight up, don't want to create a short and blow a fuse that way either.

    This.

But why the hell would you want that in a personal vehicle? What situation are you in, in your new Tacoma, where you are worried your interior lights are going to "give away your position"?

Sounds like we got ourselves a couple of tackleberries over here.

At any amateur astronomy event, if you open a truck door with white dome light turned on you'll be run off the property. High intensity white light completely destroys night vision, retina takes 10-15 minutes to recover. Most everyone uses low intensity red lights.

Lol. No, I just don't want to be blinded by interior lights when I open the door. Ever since I got LASIK my eyes have been slightly more photosensitive.

I got all of the interior lights listed in the OP and just put the incandescent factory ones back in. The LEDs were just way too bright for me for the cab. They totally killed my night vision. I don't want to be out camping or wheeling at night and getting blinded every time I open my doors up. The license plate lights are nice though. I'll probably get the reverse lights to match.

I just changed out the vanity lights to LED. I kept the overheads stock. The LEDs were too bright.

So I just finished installing and have a question. The two lights quoted above I had to switch. The set you have listed for the map lights were very loose and kept falling out. The lights out of both the tail lights and map lights look identical upon taking them out.

Is this right? I currently have the CWHP15's sitting in my tail light and although they fit better they still seem loose.

It's almost like a lot of engineers spent time researching the brightness of interior lighting and came up with the best middle ground..

Yeah. Well I had all LEDs from the factory in my Lexus and they were great. Not too bright but better than incandescent. So I thought these would be similar but they are way overboard for me.

You can get quality LEDs from Pep Boys (Sylvania) etc and other stores. Not much brighter but whiter

I've been searching for a good LED vendor. Any recommendations? Has anyone had a bad experience with superbrightleds.com?

I just bought my very first vehicle ever and it happens to be a truck and it happens to be a Tacoma(SR5 double cab 4x2). So i've been roaming the threads for recommended/popular upgrades and stumbled across this thread. I was skeptical about buying the LEDs since they were not on Amazon(amazon is life!), but I ended up doing it because I wasn't sure if I found the right bulb for the back middle(I'm calling it Dome light) on amazon. I didn't see any instructions or pictures for where to pry open the light covers but managed to figure it out. I took pictures in the process for future reference for others that may not know how to do this.
I did buy the exact same parts as listed by the OP. Here are the pics:

The only tools i needed(i used a pick, but that ended up being too sharp)
    Tools_needed.jpg

Vanity light cover tab (pry it upward with a flat head screw driver, the PICK WAS TOO SHARP!!)

    Passenger side, before and after
    Passenger_vanity_mirror_lights_stock.jpg Passenger_vanity_mirror_lights_stock_vs_LED.jpg
    Passenger_vanity_mirror_lights_LEDs.jpg

Note that the '12VDC' text on the metal contact has to be on the BOTTOM for the bulb to work, PASSENGER SIDE ONLY
    Passenger_vanity_mirror_light_LED_bulb.jpg Passenger_vanity_mirror_light_LED_bulb1.jpg

Driver side bulbs need to have '12VDC' text at the top. OPPOSITE DIRECTION FROM PASSENGER SIDE
    Driver_vanity_mirror_light_LED(reverse_direction).jpg

    Map light LED:
    Map_light_LED_bulb.jpg
To remove Map light cover, stick the flat head between the plastic and the dark flat spot on the cover
    Map_lights_cover1.jpg
I actually ended up bending the contacts in towards each other to create a more snug fit for the map light LED. Felt loose without bending the contacts
    Map_light_housing.jpg
    Map_light_LED.jpg

To remove the middle center light(DOME ligth) cover, locate two flat tabs. Stick the flat head between the plastic and the cover in these spots
    Dome_light_bulb_tabs.jpg
Had to bend the tab in order to fit the new bulb
    Dome_light_housing(bend_tab).jpg

FINAL RESULT(it was a monsoon outside while i was working :D)
