I hope you find your overload springs. I read through a couple of threads and members that did have the old leaf pack with AAL's they were able to get them replaced and the dealer just gave the AAL back to the owner as they will not install the AAL with the new leaf packs. It feels like the dealer is just giving you the run around. If there's another dealer you can try , you should check with them as well. If dealers are giving you a hard time I would call corporate Toyota and open a case.

Thanks, I did find the overload springs but not the center pin. I called another dealer who sounded much more reasonable saying they could install my AAL's & will only charge for the additional labor involved and possibly new u-bolts and center pin if needed. That sounds fair to me. They just had to order the fit kit which will take a week or two...

I got the letter in the mail yesterday. So do they do an inspection first (and of what?) and then they determine if they're going to change parts or do they just put a new leaf pack on? From the way the letter reads it seems they're putting new hardware but now I'm confused since people are saying they got an inspection then it was a wait for the parts to come in?

Honestly im not even sure why they need to inspect the truck. I made my appointment, they looked and said yep we need to order them since they don't stock the leaf packs. They looked at how many clips are on it and that was it. They'll put a new set of leafpacks + hardware required.

looks like yours is good to go. did it look like you lost a little bit of rake with out the load?

From what I understand they replace the whole leaf pack free of charge as long as it's stock. If you have AAL's or lift blocks they charge for the additional labor and hardware (if needed). But I had to call 3 different dealers to get that info. First place quoted close to $500, last place quoted just under $200, because I have AAL's. Haven't called Toyota corporate yet but going to see if they tell me something different...

Yep, seems like a waste of time to make us come in only to be told "come back when we have parts". But it's free and we've been waiting like 2 years for the fix so I guess jumping through some hoops is to be expected.

I currently have Bilstein 5100's on all four corners with the front shocks are set at 1.75" and the TSB 4 leaf springs in the rear. As she sits, I'm happy with the ride and the height even with my topper.

I recently got the leaf spring safety recall letter, but I am not sure if I should go through with it after reading most of these posts. Is the consensus keep the original TSB leaf pack if you have it?

It would be very annoying to get the new springs and then have to purchase an AAL.

The new springs definitely sit lower but I think they hold up to the weight a little better.

Got my letter yesterday here in Louisiana. Called dealer first thing this morning and they said that the parts are in stock and to drop it off in the morning. No inspection needed...

(I haven't read the whole thread yet) @alan did Toyota reimburse your lift? After jumping through a ton of paperwork hoops, they denied me. I'm going to call Friday to complain

So is the consensus that you need to remove your AAL before you have Toyota do the swap? I wouldn't want to pay them to do to recall work!

probably have to extend the axle mount with a spacer like i will have to eventually. Probably something for this weekend, i have been putting it off for a year but it hasnt done any harm to the truck so far.

I was thinking of getting airbags but since I don't tow or haul heavy stuff that much but will always have a camper shell on I think I'm going to try these with my recall leaf pack.

i love my air bags. I have had them for years. I got them right after the !st TSB springs. I can tow my trailer at stock height and makes the truck handle grate wile towing.. My dealer is making me take them off before i get this set of spring. I did fight to have them order the parts with the bags on the truck. I tow with my truck on the weekends.
