Thanks Rob. I'll keep you posted.

I'm not very mechanically inclined can you help me with that mod? What tools do I need?

It's actually a simple, no-drill installation. All you do is walk into your favorite flavor of Ferd stealerships (Herb Chambers, Framingham, Muzi and Franklin to name a few), point to the model that tickles your fancy, throw the salesman your Tacoma key, sign on the dotted line and drive away in your Tacoma retrofitted to look, drive and feel like an F150.

Speaking of mods........is anyone interested in helping me drain and flush my transmission fluid? I'm a little past due and I fucking suck with a wrench. I don't mind giving cash but I was quoted from and indi shop of about $175 for the job. Don't even wanna know what the dealer would charge

They may be charging that for a flush. If they are charging that for a drain and fill, run and don't look back. You can only drain a few quarts without doing a flush. I have heard that the dealership is right around that same $175 price

Shit, I meant to say drain and fill, not drain and flush. But yeah I'm pretty sure that was the price for a drain and fill. Just can't dish out almost $200 right now

Not really sure. I'll check it out this weekend when I see her.

Yes actually the bed of her ford is pretty much the size of my tacoma. To be fair though it was her dads and he gave it to her because he bought a challenger

Just so you know, use the Toyota WS fluid or you could have issues down the road. The shits expensive, you might have just under $100 just in fluids for a drain and fill. I want to say the drain and fill lets you swap out 7 - 8 quarts, the full capacity is somewhere around 17 quarts and I don't recall if that's with or without the tranny cooler.

So I reckon that means never let the guys at Jiffy Lube do that job?

Your brave. I don't think I would trust them with even that simple task.

I'll confess, I have let them change my oil before. Not because I want to, because my life is so hectic.

I used to use them when I lived down south. I found one that was actually pretty good. Up here, I'm with Rob, I wouldn't let them air up my tires.

I know everyone has a story and sometimes they are just that, but in Highschool I worked at a fish market. The owner took his wife's Volkswagen Jetta to the Jiffy lube in Hyannis for a routine oil change. Idiots there forgot to tighten the drain plug on the oil pan and guess what backed itself right out about a mile down the road? Seized engine and took him about a year for them to finally get a replacement engine in her car.

After that whole fiasco, I avoid jiffy lube like the plague. I'd rather drive a few hundred extra miles than have that thought in the back of my head.
