    Truck:
    Year:2013
    Make: Toyota
    Model: Tacoma
    Body: Access Cab
    Color: Super white
Package: 2.7L 5 speed base with convenience package

    Background:
I've been wanting a Tacoma for a long time and with the wife's Wrangler edging up in the 260,000 miles mark it was time. This one popped up online with no pictures and I got to the dealer when it was still in the back lot untouched by them. I bought it that day 11/11/2015 with 67k miles on it. I really wanted a manual and a 4 cylinder and needed a back seat that would work for my daughter and they 09 ups have a better jump seat for actual use for her. The previous owner kept great care and records of what he did to it. He was some sort of lineman which was deduced by the lineman sticker on the rear window, most miles appear to be highway with very little off road use.

    The Name:
Took a while to come up with a name. Mt wife and daughter said the truck was a female, so from there we chose Jolene. Two part reason: The trucks first real trip was up to Pigeon Forge via the Smokies. Second my wife is a fair skinned red head and the truck is fair skinned too lol.

    Build Plan Summary:
Right now this is my wife's daily driver as I have a g ride I use for work. Luckily her commute is less than 5 miles on way and shes been driving a manual car since she was 16. This build will be slow to come due to us both being public servants. I want this to be a self sufficient expedition build, I know that is whats hot right now but that is what we plan on using it for. This will haul the wife, daughter, doberman, and I around on awesome adventures. I have grand ideas and plans thanks to Tacoma World, Expo portal, and all the sweet builds on both sites.

    Current Modifications:

    Exterior:

Leer 100R series shell, headliner, sliding windoors, storage box on inside roof, clothes hanger, sliding/folding front window, etc
    Trimmed front mud flaps
    AVS hood rock protector/screen thingy

    Interior:
A bunch of crap in the center console
    Dog, wife, and daughter hair
Grid it sun visor organizer (pass. side)

    Front Suspension:
Tuff country 3" spacer that came with the truck

    Rear Suspension:
Tuff country add a leaf kit that came with the truck

    Wheels/Tires:
    16" alloy factory Tacoma wheels
235/85r16 Toyo Open Country AT II's

    The night I bought it:

The old faithful TJ, this was my wife's first car that was hers and got it new in 2003. It was a sport with 4.0L and manual 5 speed. It saw a lot in its time with her and us, and we will miss it. My daughter is sad because she loved it but she loves the Tacoma now.

Better day time picture of how it looked when I bought it.

First mod was done on 12/23/16 and that was putting some factory alloys I bought with some 235/85/16 Toyo open country's.

I ended up finding a cap I wanted and the deal worked out where I drove about 2 hours on Christmas eve to get it. It was definitely worth it as it was exactly what i wanted and was a good deal.

    Planned Mods:
I will update this area with my plans, I have quite a few but need to type them out and will then add them here.

Thanks for looking and thanks to all the other awesome builds on here that I've gotten inspiration from. @ragincajun35 and his two builds, @Nate87 and his sweet AC build, @NYCO another great access cab build, @Iggy. , @ikarus , @Scott B. , @2012 Taco , and many many more!

Congratulations dude welcome to the addiction. Let me know how I can help? The 4 banger 5 speeds are awesome. Good choice on the shell life!! 4wd or prerunner?

Thanks, it has been a long time coming. It is 4wd, ain't nobody got time for a prerunner :anonymous: :oldglory:

I'm know I will be picking your brain when it comes to some stuff for sure. Like I said it just going to be a slow build but it will get there eventually, the wife is completely on board and excited as I am. I just need to make my 9 year old get to work so she can contribute lol.

Looking good and you are off to a great start. Perfect base to build up from and it seems like you got big plans for this truck.

Great write up. I purchased a new 2015 last year, same specs: 5/speed, 2.7 4 banger. First true upgrade will be a shell. I'm looking at the ARE TW series. I'm worried about the power loss. Anytime I have anything over a few hundred pounds I feel it immediately, obviously hills and such. Did you notice big power loss with the shell?

Sorry I haven't updated or replied to this in a while been really busy at work. I didn't notice a power loss but I did not have it with out the shell for more than about a month. I also accept its a 4 cylinder truck that isn't a power house.
