One of my good friends went to buy a truck the other day so I tagged along. We looked at the usual suspects, the Tacoma, the Frontier and the Ridgeline. I noticed how 'quirky' the interior of the Ridgeline looked and how the interior of the Frontier was really cheap looking I have to give Toyota credit, I think the Tacoma has the best looking interior in it's class. Needless to say, my friend bought a Tacoma.

Sorry but you are on crack. I bought an '08 Taco the last day of May and the interior sucks in it but I didn't buy it for that, i need dead on reliability so Toyota was it.

The arm rests on the door are made of seat fabric just dying to get gross from people dirty elbows. The center console and door handles are made of that rubbery surface that is also a dirt magnet. The black "dimpled" dash material scratches if you so much as touch it with a fingernail. The gauges are set so deep in the dash the dash lights are on the entire time the vehicle is running unless you dim them but them you can't see the damn things if you have sunglasses on (at least I can't). I have towels on the seats, armrests (washcloth) and center console. I may have to get someone to leather this truck out because it is annoying to have towels all over the inside of the truck.

I wish I could line up the interior design team and execute them, they truly deserve it. Coming out of an '04 F-150 to this is a big shock, the F-150 interior was made to look new years after it was sold. The Tacoma materials are not meant to be in a work truck....unfortunately some people still work with trucks (me for one). I may hold this thing a couple years then compare 2010 or 2011 Tundra to F-150's and jump ship.
