This is specific to sound issues related to audio system grounding, but it is likely helpful for your issue too.

I have seen a few, and I love that area. Not a big hunter, but it is amazing how many deer are down there when driving around, especially at night. Already had one that decided to jump in front of the jeep. Not fun, but it gave me an excuse to get a steel bumper and bull bar. :) Which area do you hunt down there?

I did a little more digging. So when I test them with my 18v drill battery, no whine. If I have them on with the truck on, no whining. Once I turn the truck off, the lights will start whining after ~15 seconds. My guess is that the voltage is too low with the truck off and that's producing a whine somehow. Still going to rewire it on Saturday and use beefier wire and see if that helps.

Actually, you may be onto something. We had a normal incandescent ceiling lamp with a dimmer switch. When we turned the dimmer down, we got a high-pitched frequency from the fixture. Upon closer inspection it was coming directly from the bulbs. I replaced the bulbs with new ones (still incandescent), and it went away.

I painted my trim a good while back, but did not do the speaker trim. I always heard you had to pop those off from inside the door. SO you said they just pop off? Did you use a trim pry tool of any type?

I purchased mine from a TW member. I also have a '14 sport and the '15 radio was plug and play. You will need a new VIN# to activate the entune app suite. Keep an eye out in the TW classifieds and eBay.

Hmmm, interesting. It may be just because these are cheap-o $20 pods off Amazon so the quality could be sub par, although they seem surprisingly well built. I wish I had a multimeter to test this out. Maybe it's finally time to invest in one.
