New to the forum but have been creeping a while. Just made my first truck purchase. Upgraded from a '97 4Runner SR5 to a 2012 Superwhite Tacoma TX DCSB. Can't wait to dive into it. Put Mastercraft Courser AXT's 265/75/17 and just ordered caliraisedled's ditch pods... here we go IMG_1424.jpg IMG_1425.jpg

    Good day everyone,
Just bought a new to me 2006 Tacoma with about 180,000 km. In nice condition, a few scrapes has a new Rebco loggers box and brand new ARP bumper on it. I have had old Toyota pickups and just sold a 2000 Tundra with almost 400,000km but this is my first Tacoma

    Hi everyone,
Bought my first Toy. Toyota finally got interiors right after all these years. We have been in, on & apart of car and truck seen for ever. Enjoying our Blue Falcon. Kinda nice not to half spend weekends fixing cars & trucks. I'm seeing some really good DIY's, lots of folks eager to help others. That makes this my kind of forum.

    Happy to meet you all!

New to TacoWorld! Grew up as a kid in the back jump seat of a Red 1989 Toyota Pickup. Now finally got back to Toyotas with a new to me - "unnew" - 2005 Tacoma Pre-Runner Access Cab (like the old man's). All stock except got new wheels and tires. Shoutout to seoulja99 for getting me back to my roots!!!

Hey guys, while I haven't actually purchased a Tacoma yet, I wanted to introduce myself. Actually I am in the process of acquiring a Taco through CarMax, its just in the transfer phase so hopefully soon it'll be a reality.

I've tried to do my homework, and have a rough idea of what I want, but would appreciate any direction or assistance. I'd like to build a street truck with an emphasis on handling while still having versatility, not just a slammed look (dont like the idea of notching the frame like the DJM kit does). I've seen the XII front springs available which drop it about 2", perfect for my taste however other than drop blocks, didnt see anything performance related for the rear. Do the 4x4 springs have a stiffer rate and will they bolt up? What kind of drop do they provide in and of themselves?

Wheels are also important. I'd like to keep under 17" to keep things as light as possible (after all, it will become my DD). X-runner wheels are 18x8 et30 so it would be cool to find a 16x8 with similar or more aggressive offset, what are the limitations there? Tire widths in the 225-235mm range would be ideal.

Last question revolves around a tonneau cover. Since the Tacoma doesnt have a tailgate lock, I'd like to get something like an Undercover Classic, which is lockable. Will that provide enough security, or will I still need the Pop-n-Lock to make sure the tailgate cannot be opened.

Anyways sorry for the rambling. Here is a picture. Thanks in advanced, and looking forward to learning more about the truck and community (ex. doing a bench-bucket seat swap, performance musts, adding towing package, etc...).

I'm new here. Just bought a 2003 Prerunner SR5. It's the Xtra-cab. I needed something to bring my boat to the lake for fishing, maybe get a small camp trailer someday, and just use for other small tasks that are hard to do in my little car. I've wanted a Tacoma for a long time, and I've loved the ones from the generation I got. I'm excited to work on it and use it for years to come.

Hey all! New Tacoma owner, as of last night, but 4th Toyota! I've been lurking on the mod threads and I can't wait to get started on my truck!

Definitely love the difference of going from my 5 speed Corolla S to my 6 speed Tacoma!

    Hey all,

I just recently sold my 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 and decided to buy a 2016 Tacoma Sport 4x4! So far I am loving it. I have been lurking on here a few days only and there have been some very helpful topics that I have been reading through!

Hey everyone! I also just got my first new vehicle! It is a 2016 TRD Off Road with a 6 spd manual! My only off road experience so far is mild sand dunes in my old truck (4x4 Dakota SLT, 4.7 V8, 5spd manual). I have yet to take my taco out there, but I can't wait!
