Alot of people preload them though right?

Still on the fence of getting coilovers or not...I'd like to have a nice ride but the most I'll be doing is slow offloading and some moderate speed dirt roads

315/75R16. I'll be doing what Robmonster is doing very soon

Sorry, man! Work has been absolutely ridiculous, and I'm getting ready for a river trip. I've been spacing a lot of things... I'll try to dig up the invoice before I leave.

Looking good, man! I'll be picking your brain here in the next couple weeks. Same goes for @cynicalrider. Thankfully, my truck isn't my DD, so I don't have to rush the tub job.

The top plate is 10mm or you can get the trim packer on OME to correct the taco lean. If you 3" but don't wanna break the bank go OME. But if you can afford to wait and do it "right" get coilovers and just learn to rebuild them since you're on the east coast

Springs give you lift. All spring wear out. Period. You have to replace them no matter what.

A real coilover, for lack of a better term that is, allows you to rebuild the shock and customize spring rate and valving. They are totally rebuild able as well. So they can last much much longer.

just what I need to do what I want
For the last two weeks I have been getting a clunking sound from the front, RT>LT,when on dirt roads, going up driveways etc. My son works at an alignment shop and seems to think it is my LBJ's. They are leaking a bit possibly putting them at risk of failure. How hard it is it to do UBJ, LBJ, inner and outer tie rod ends? I have OME 881 with 10mm spacer and Wheeler's 5 leaf pack, which I installed myself. I am fairly mechanical but ball joints scare me! I have 101k on a 03 DCSB 4x4.

Non remote resi 2.5s. I think they are worth the extra small amount over 2.0s. Brand doesn't really matter imo. King, fox, icon, ads, saw, bilstein (higher end stuff not 5100s) all make quality stuff

Keep an eye out in the buy and sell section as you can often score a deal on a used set. Even if blown you can have them rebuilt and they'll function like new.

Not possible. All of them are around a grand. Nicer ones with resi and extended travel around 1300-1500

This. The cheapest set you can buy new are Foxes for around $900 and it just climbs from there.

Remote resi's are played up IMO and for your needs they offer nothing.

Squeaky Penguin helped me out with mine. After going through it once I feel confident I could do it again, by myself.

We didn't do the UBJs or ITRs. Just the LBJs and OTRs.

Fairly straight forward. Tons of write ups on it if you search google. You can rent a pitman puller from any of the major auto stores for free.
