Clay bar is like super fine pumice in a soap bar. Wet & keep wet to remove ALL surface grimes, dirt and etc.

Run hand over clean clear coat is smooth ... run hand over clay barred clear coat is super smooth and like glass.

I always wax clear coat after a clay bar application to seal clear coat.

You-tube it ... and go slow and easy and STAY OFF THE EDGES or you eat through the paint ...

We have some "clay bar experts" on here and they can chime in ... :)

Got my LCE Headers on today for the 2TR-FE!
Once they're mounted up and everything is put back together they're pretty hard to see:

So, impressions... Install was pretty straight forward, no grinding of the air pump valve was needed. Took me about 3 and a half hours total, and I was taking my time for a lot of it. I have no idea how you're supposed to properly torque 2 of the bottom 3 nuts to spec, so I just snugged them down firmly with an open end wrench from below. The bottom flange seems like it's not quite lining up and I thought it would leak, but lo and behold it doesn't. Overall a pretty solid product. I did manage to scratch one of the tubes on install... d'oh. Only gripe would be I don't like the fact that it did away with the heat shield. I'm one of those "cover it all with an ugly heat blanket" guys because I want the temps, not the bling.

On the road: WOW.:headbang: It's basically an always-on ECT. Then when you turn ECT on, even better! Definitely moves the torque peak lower. My butt dyno cannot confirm gains, but you do feel the punch earlier on in the rev band. Probably will net me better MPG too because I feel like I don't have to press as hard on the throttle to maintain speed. I've got like 10 miles on it right now so I'll continue to post up my impressions.

Sound wise, it's exactly what I was looking for. I explicitly didn't want to pair it with a muffler because I don't want a loud truck. Interior noise is slightly up at higher RPM, but barely affected at cruising. From the outside, the exhaust has a bit more of an underlying growl but the stock muffler keeps it stealth. Spot on.

And then the hits just keep on coming:

....^^^... When you put new exhausts on ... do the emission control gremlins come after you at emission testing time ??

Can new exhausts pass an emissions control test in a couple of years down the road when tests are required ?? ..... Thanks

    BTW ... Great looking wheels.

I don't know where you live, but the only place this should be an issue is California, where these are not CARB certified.

Every other free state lets you run 'em no problem. It's actually not altering emissions- the catalytic converter is totally intact and unmolested, and there are no check engine lights thrown.

How's the ride and can you get more angles of your truck, Looks Good! A lot of people hate on spacers and blocks but I would like to know how the ride is. I'm thinking of going the same route. Tks

Just clicked over the 100 mile mark on the odometer. Hooray for triple digits.

Also starting looking into bars / steps since the girlfriend is vertically challenged and spent longer than I'd like to admit doing research on sunshades for the window since it's already hitting high 90s around here.

Fairfield / Vacaville area here but I do end up in the bay area proper from time to time. Mostly the east and north bay but you never know.

Now that I've got a truck I'm looking to get out more and do more camping and exploring in the area so who knows where all I'll be!

I pushed out the blank cover from underneath the dash with a screwdriver. After that, you just connect the wires and push in the new switch.

Playing catch up. Here is a brief summary of what I've done to the Taco so far.

Installed the nerf bars last night!

I'm considering 265/75/16s as well. What brand did you go with and did it change much like mpg, ride, etc?
