I agree with you Mr. Swimmer .
There are at minimum 20 posts for low fluid conditions . I try catching most of them but its time consuming .
I am trying my best to keep the Poll thread as relevant and as updated as possible . Its updated daily . All you have to do is click on the link and read the first page . I continue to edit as new information becomes available
Your best bet for new information will be at this link

I see this thread doesn't have much attention anymore but I thought I'd share my story and maybe get some answers from you guys. I bought my 2016 Tacoma in January. It had 1500 miles on it due to the dealerships owner using it. Right away I noticed that there was hesitation when shifting from reverse to drive. Also, I noticed that the transmission held gears too long when cruising. Within the past month I've noticed that the transmission slips between 2nd and 3rd gear, but its strange because it doesn't do it consistently. It typically only does it one time and then shifts fine for the rest of the trip. I took it to the dealership and explained everything. I also asked them to check the fluid level. 8 hours later they called and said that they couldn't duplicate the problem. They said they checked the fluid level using a scanner and it was normal. They reset the transmission ECU so that it can learn my driving style since they never reset it when I first bought it. As soon as I pulled out from the dealership the slipping occurred. I'm at a loss of what to do because I know that when I take it back they won't be able to duplicate. Any advice?

I have the same issues with mine , my best advice is to stay persistent with complaints and get them to either fix it or lemon law it. I don't have The patience and mine is getting traded in this week.

    Try S5 or S6.
S-mode disables the AI shift patterns.

I use S4 under 50 mph and let the truck shift itself through the first four gears. Acceleration is more linear and you remove the tendency of the transmission climbing to the OD gears 5 and 6.

On the highway I use S5 or 6 depending on terrain and speed.

Seems to work best for me.

    Yep, I do the same.
I believe S4 eliminates flex lockup all together, thus more linear.
