You did'nt specify no tax. Some people say out the door before tax is paid. That's why I ddon't take many of these posts serious.Ga. we have advalorum tax.TRD OR is not 4wd only, that's the part you don't understand..

...^^^... The phased in GA vehicle Ad Valorem Sales Tax is a giant rip off and was pushed by the dealers to stop private sellers who basically paid no (2nd time) sales taxes.

I lucked out and pay no ad valorem sales tax on lease or sale now (with free tag) ... because of VA (military) exception and I am highest taxed county in GA (Fulton).

PS ... OTD here can be confusing ... depending on Ad Valorem ... got your point.

You can send the below to your buddy who questioned your "OTD Knowledge" ... :)

That's why I always want to see the final sale sheet. There are so many details left out you really can't compare.

I agree it sucks. You don't pay sales tax so it's pretty much a wash if u buy new.I would consider buying used from an individual but now u still pay the ad valorem . U really need to keep vehicle 10 yrs or longer to break even.Only $20 tag fee to renew tag here I think.

Each state and county are pretty big swings too. I would have had to pay close to 42k in SoCal if I had bought my exact truck at my local dealer. If I lived in Oregon where there's no sales tax I could have gotten my truck for 36900.

...^^^... IIRC ... Our county tax commissioner is the highest paid employee in all of GA and one of the highest paid in the USA. Trying to change that when he retires, but that job is a political payback plum too.

He personally gets a nice cut of each and every tax bill collected in the smaller burbs outside of Atlanta ... for collecting the smaller cities' and county's taxes. .......... Kind of like the Sheriff of Nottingham did ... lol ...

It's crazy and was all over the newspapers a while back. He is the guy who helped push this new Ad Valorem Tax on additional second times vehicle sales after taxes are paid on first sale. Some of our laws go all the back the the King of England as one of the original colonies .... i.e. some tax collections and city, county, state & special sovereign immunity laws too.

Exactly, and in Cali tax rates vary from 7.5-10% depending on where you live.

    Example:
    $35k truck @ 7.5% tax = $37,625
    $35k truck @ 10% tax = $38,500
    $35k truck @ 0% tax = $35,000
---Basically a $3.5k difference between three buyers who all got the same deal, but lived in different zip codes---

So basically by comparing OTD prices you really cannot reasonably judge how good of a deal you're getting vs. other TW members. (I realize that is what the OP of the thread asked for). Plus by posting OTD prices you now get people wanting to see your sales sheet and whatever. Maybe time to start a new thread asking people a more applicable "What did you pay"? Throw out OTD, Trade-ins, lic/title fees, and just compare based on the sale price of the truck...i.e. OTD minus TTL & Trade-ins. But hey I'm new on the forum so not sure how that works having (2) competing threads. Just a random thought.

Does $37,122.27 + TTL seem like a good price for TRD ORSB 4x4, P&T package, Tow, carpet and side steps?

I paid less with jbl and a long bed. It's not horrible but you're probably $1000-$1500 off of msrp right?
