Well if it is to be corrected everyone must share the cost to make it right. That includes the military as well. Nothing against the fine soldiers that served. It just ticks me off when I think we have no real leaders in politics any more.

We have been, our pay raise has been 0-1.6% for the past 7 years below inflation and civilian sector, our BAH was cut by 5% last year, we force shaped (cut troops) last year and many now work the jobs of those who were cut on top of their own. So the burden has been more than shared. Cutting more isn't the answer, there are other areas. When you serve and have a better idea of the current NDAA and what is in it along with the last few budgets, come back and talk to me. Sorry bud.

Dude I hear you but I think you and I are coming from two different experieces As I have stated before I have no problems with our soldiers Just so that you know I served for 4 years

Now let me share my experience as it pertains to bloat in the fed budget. On my job 60 percent of the people are military retired or reserve. I can tell you this much most of them are making 6 figure salaries. In addition to military disability, retired military income, paid to go to college to include free books and computers, not to mention some vets and their families are entitled to free education Also retired military are guaranteed free health care or subsidized medical care.

Sounds like a sweet package to me It is more than the average American can only dream about. Now before you start blasting me
I do feel that some of these benefits are deserving because of the sacrifices SOME of our veterans have made. Let me give you an example. The soldiers who went oversees to fight the enemy deserve many of these benifits unlike the solider that sat behind a desk for 20 plus years and started complaining about their wrist hurts due to typing too much on the computer. Now they are trying to get military disability.

So you see sir there is a lot of bloat that could be cut out of military programs. But you are correct bloat and mismanagement should be removed from all federal programs

I have a dealer in Annapolis sending me invoice for a SR w/ V6, 4x4 and double cab. OTD for 32.5. I don't know the difference between SR and SR5 though. Seems really high.

They you need to go grab the brochure (at the very least) from the toyota.com website and compare the models. Then, it would be prudent for you to decide what truck you need, and the MSRP and invoice cost for the model and options.

I think you need to look a bit deeper at what your talking about, some of it seems miscued. Yes there are people that take advantage of disability that should not and abuse the system, but many in fact have some medical issue from serving, I am one, I don't claim disability as I'am still active duty and won't likely when I separate, I can see your point there. College sir you can't say a word. That is a earned right/compensation for serving and has been since WWII, I think you also need to actually research before you assume things, under the GI bill you get a monthly living stipend which is usually about $1500 a month to cover books, living, expenses etc. You and I both know that would far from cover books, living expenses, rent for a full time student, so that comment you made is a bit misplaced. Yes under the new GI bill you can transfer you education benefits to your kids, but you TRANSFER you don't get to use it and your kids, you are capped and you must serve at least 12 years to even be eligible to transfer to your kids/spouse, again why do you feel troops don't deserve this? I also implore you to visit a VA hospital before you run your mouth about free health care, many veterans DIE before they are seen or treated, it is far from the healthcare you are thinking, not to mention Obamacare now covers EVERYONE. Again you seem to feel that you got the short straw and that troops are treated with a golden spoon, you say you served, if you did you should know this is not the case. I have yet to receive a pay increase that keeps up with inflation or the civilian sector, I have had my housing allowance cut every year, I now work the job of 3 people due to cuts across the force and budget, I work well over 40 hours, I sacrifice my right to many freedoms civilians enjoy and I have served overseas in places many wouldn't ever considered laying foot in in conditions no one wants to live in. But please continue to tell me how unfair it is. If you look at my first post it is in regards to the NDAA the senate just passed which cuts massively into current active duty housing along with reformed cuts to healthcare and a continued less than inflation/civilian sector pay raise. Again please do some informed reading on the things that you seem to be angry about and making assumptions and then come back and support your argument. Again there are people throughout our society that take advantage and I too have seen SOME with disability claims, but don't group all troops into those few and make outrageous claims about golden spoons cause that is far from the case. Now back on topic.

I haven't read any of this thread except for the first post....

The sport is a waste of money. It costs the same amount extra as an OR

    Some tips:
@ That invoice price you find is not what the dealership paid for the truck.
@ you should be able to get at least 2k off msrp on any truck on the east coast.
@ get what you want and don't settle for less. If you are a responsible adult, you will make the extra money if it is needed. Have you ever missed rent or a mortgage payment? I doubt it.
@ dealers are only interested in selling you a truck right now. They aren't interested in ordering you the truck you want. Tell them to stick it in their ass if they try to pressure you into buying what they have on the lot if it's not what you want. Find a salesman or dealer who will wait for you and it's worth a little extra money.
@ don't pay anything near msrp for any model right now. 17s are coming soon and 16s are old news, especially on the east coast.

Ask me questions if you wish. I will answer

And Federal Min wage is around $8.25/ hr witness very minimal increases over last several years. Ridiculous. Jump to $15/hr may be too drastic in many areas (other than NYC etc) but .25-.40 cents an hr y increase is demeaning & selfish. Major increases are due to many, incrementally decent raises over the next few years to minimum wages. Same for our servicemen.

Just an opinion but this is really is a Tacoma forum
    Isn't it?

I'm okay with not taking a pay raise, but I'm not okay with taking a pay cut/compensation cut which is what they are proposing with the new NDAA the senate passed, it would impact married military couples the most but also junior service members, punishing them to life cheaper in order to save. I honestly am all for a revolution at Capital Hill, our supposed leaders/lawmakers are so far removed from the pulse of the country its sad. But everyone is too busy in their lives to care, it will come to a turning/breaking point at some point, just when and what will do it. Sh*t we have radicalized candidates like Trump resonating with voters who are sick of the status quo, should speak a lot to the establishment. But that's another discussion, back to OP's thread.

Damn MSRP on the SR5 is almost as high as the TRD OR. MSRP on mine with tow was 34740, no options other than tow.
