Yep my SR5 DCLB 4WD MSRP was just over $35k. But you tend to have more wiggle room on price with the SR5 and Sport's as dealers know the Offroads are in HIGH demand, unless your in an area that they aren't, in which a lot of guys travel to get a deal on one. Honestly unless you off road or want the tech package, the OR isn't worth the extra cost.

I do a little off roading but all upgrades I want to do myself. So the SR5, I think is the best option for me.

I am not crazy about the grill and hood of the TRD Sport, so can't justify paying extra for that.

I may pull the trigger on this deal. I wanted a good deal, I don't really have the time to search for a great deal since I am on a time crunch of getting another vehicle.

It's not a bad deal, go for it. You might save 500 bucks more if you hold out, but in the long run what is 500 bucks? Not much. Enjoy your truck! What color is it?

I would say go for it, you may get another $250-500 off somewhere else, but you are pretty close to invoice there. Maybe ask them to throw in some accessories to sweeten the deal, I did and they obliged.

Yes. My SR5 V6 4x4 DCSB with tow package, appearance package (alloy wheels, painted fender flares), tonneau cover, running boards and tint was $33,600 before TTL.

Dude I hear you I was not calling out the military as a whole. I am sure active duty people such as yourself deserve a pay raise. Nevertheless we can agree on one thing and that is our federal government overall is rife with fraud, waste, incompentance, and abuse. How we fix it is another whole story.

I wouldn't say I love it but I like it ok I guess...I would love it if the transmission performed better and the seats were bigger. I'm 6ft. tall and the bottom part of the seat doesn't support my legs enough. Longer trips get a little uncomfortable.

If it got gone somehow I'd probably get a 4x4 Sport and seriously consider a 6-speed manual just because I like more control. Hopefully if the upcoming transmission update is a big improvement I'll be pretty happy then though.

Otherwise it runs great, has plenty of power when I want it and drives good.

Thanks for the honest feedback. That is really helpful. Was kind of hoping you'd back up smitty's claim that the SR5 transmission "behaves" better, but it doesn't sound like. Anyway congrats on the truck, hope it serves you well for many years.

I used USAA financing (I married into it, didn't serve, but have a deep respect for those who serve, and have served, our country). It was a much better rate than what Toyota was offering, even with their discounts. I got a 15 DCLB TRD Sport, and love it, but had to bend over at the dealership. At the time, I lived in Northern CA, and there was nothing within 500 miles that had the features and color I wanted.

I was looking for a truck to own for the next 15 years, so saving 1 or 2 grand right now wasn't as important as having everything I wanted in a truck for the next 15 years. I have to admit vanity in choosing the TRD Sport over the TRD Off Road. That useless hood scoop is so seductive in its appearance, and when I'm not gazing at the truck from my living room window, or any time I walk past it, I have pictures to get my fix. My off-roading is more to safely get my wife and I to incredible places to camp in the 6ft bed, not to climb boulders or paint the truck with mud.

Being an audiophile, I regularly thank myself for getting the JBL system. While I mainly use Google Maps on my phone for navigation, I still like to use the Entune navigation display to let me know what the speed limit is on whatever road I'm driving. Even the bed-step, which I didn't really care about, has gotten regular use as a convenience.

In summary, I did not get a good financial deal on my truck, but I got everything else I wanted for the next 15 years. My advice, is to prioritize what you want, and make your decisions based on that.
