    I go
I go to a local car wash and use their light pressure mode with a wand and spray through the radiator. I don't see a ton of mud so that isn't an issue. I inspect the radiator for bent fins and the such during washings as well.

I am just running the 50/50 mix from toyota for both the charger and the rad. Thought about the mixture but never experimented with it in the past. I'm in socal so freezing temps are few and far between. Usually hotter here.

I tried looking on your profile for pics of your truck but couldn't find any.

Would you mind posting some pics of your front end and also in the engine bay? Maybe we can identify something that you need to change.

Also - You can do a test for us since you have a scangauge. Next time you go for a drive, monitor the engine temp. These trucks come with a 190*F thermostat, so when you're just driving around town, you should eventually see the engine temp stop at 190 and sit around the for the most part. It may fluctuate up a little bit but shouldn't exceed 200*F.

It sounds to me like you aren't getting air to your existing cooling components.. or they aren't functioning properly.

Chemistry tells us it is A LOT harder to heat up something the hotter it gets and the fact is if it's 90 or 100 or 110 *F outside the engine is still quite a bit warmer and so 100 degree air is quite nice at that point*. You said ARB bumper, plate right? You may be restricting fresh air from getting in.

*Consider, you're 98-ish, right? 45 degree air is fucking cold.

Snapping a few pics really quick on my lunch break. Around town temp stays about 198 200s when sitting and idling for long periods.

Seems a smidge high. My guess at this point is you've either got insufficient air flow or the thermostat is faulty.

You can grab one of these next time you're at the auto parts store to check if your coolant is chemically still OK. https://www.amazon.com/Prestone-AF-1420-Antifreeze-Coolant-Tester/dp/B000BOA9RY

When checking your rad, a common place to look is between your rad and A/C heat exchanger. As much as possible, recommend you don't drive it as an overheating engine will ruin your day. Head gasket replacements are not fun or cheap.

yeah, that is why I am hoping I can get a little more insight into what I might be lacking when it comes to cooler here. This is my only vehicle and I have to drive her. Now that I am home and just doing my usual driving I am not seeing the what I considered crazy high temps.

If the rad is clean of dirt/mud, I would do a drain and flush. While Im at it, I would check/replace the thermostat. Again, these temps are not normal even with the mods you've made on your truck. There is something wrong with your cooling and we need to troubleshoot.

To keep the engine running as cool as possible (your gonna hate this), open your windows and blast your heater on the highest setting. Don't use the A/C!

Edit: A way to trouble shoot flow/thermostat issues is check the temp on the upper and lower radiator hose after the engine warms up. They should be the same. If one is hotter than the other, you have a flow issue.

Good chance you are just making mud and packing it farther into the radiator. proper cleaning would be from the back side, as the dirt come in the front and gets trapped. With the intercooler, trans cooler, condensor, and radiator all together no way you are getting it clean. Plus, behind the winch on the plate bumper is where things really collect and it is really hard to get it clean back there. I waste a lot of water flushing mine out every once in a while. it is quite the pain in the ass to really get it clean with a plate bumper, winch, and lightbar on there.

Haha, heard that. My old 1980 Tercel used to overheat and I didn't have a choice. In fact, I didnt even have A/C. Black Pleather seats didn't help either!

Going through hills and such is going to heat your transmission up a lot and the tranny cooler is the little quarter sized radiator in front of the AC condenser behind the grille. Extra heat was likely coming off that reducing the already low amount of cool air making it to the actual radiator.

yeah, when I took it to Toyota for a rear main seal leak I told them to check the AC system due to how it would start blowing humid hotish air when parked or idling for long periods in traffic. they said the AC system was fine, but the extra charger cooler was restricting too much air flow. which after taking a harder look at it I thought to myself well... that could be logical.. but why would they offer this system if they hadn't tested those types of functions. main reason I am looking to the far more experienced minds on here. I had seen a thread on a guy adding another trans cooler inline with the existing ones and having great results per his posts, but my worry is... I would be adding yet another rad/cooler in the front blocking more airflow to the engine rad and AC condenser.
