What's going on everyone. I have been thinking about buying some black tube steps for my super white/OR No lift. I was hoping you guys could post some side pics of the steps you have and how you like them. I have noticed a lot of people either like the look or don't like the look. Just seeking all options. Thanks!

The looks are subjective, I like some trucks with and some without. Depends on the rest of the setup. For functionality, I guess it depends on whether or not you will be using them as a step to get in. For me, they would just be in the way. My 04 Taco had a 12" lift with 37's and no steps... That is until I met my now-wife. Then I went lower on the coilovers, sized down to 35's and added nerf bars lol. Stock, I don't see much benefit. However, they would come in handy when washing the truck and loading stuff on the roof rack.

Yeah I know what you mean, the looks are subjective. I am 6'3 so I don't have a hard time getting in and out, but I did buy a roof rack just the other day. I guess if it comes down to buying steps, the question is which ones to get. Are some better then others, which ones look better, Aftermarket options, etc...

I got steps because I have two kids and a short wife (5'3). They need all the help they can get and my truck is stock.

These were an option from Toyota. Can't really see them.

I ended up buying Mobtown Offroad Rocksliders set up to be steps. I liked the added functionality of the rocksliders over regular steps as a lift point. They should be here today.

Wouldn't the "step or no step" question mostly come down to whether you like tall girls or short girls?

I went with nFabs and really like the look... my only regret is as Woodrow points out the rocksliders give you a lift point... and I hate getting on the ground to look for one!

definitely subjective. I for one don't like how the cab creases on the bottom of the truck where the pinch welds are. I got steps to cover them up, but surprisingly the steps have been very useful. (think washing top of cab)

Thanks!! These are the ones im trying to find a good deal on. I like how it fits pretty close to the body and like most have mentioned it hides the pinch welds. Thanks for the pics!

I was thinking about getting some so that way if I a person opens their door too far they will hit the running board/nerf bar. Do these stick out far enough to cause someone to hit the running board instead of leaving a ding in your truck?

Yes. That was one of the reasons I went with these.

Some guy in the classifieds section was selling his new take offs. He is in SoCal, but I think he wants like 5 bills. I went with the power coated Lunds

Do you need to know, or care?
If you are thinking of going with the OEM tube steps and using them to get to the roof, then look elsewhere because they sit too close to the body for any really useful purpose.
