Ive been in for my 2nd service already and complained about my tranny the first time, they said its being broken in and normal..I then added almost 1 litre myself.. took it back again with issues still. This time they said if its low fluid the engine light will come on. Thats how much they dont know. They also checked for a tsb for my sport auto and there was none, a week ago.
I also double checked that they greased my driveline on the 2nd service because I greased all mine earlier except for a front one above a heat shield and they were all dry. Sure enough I took the shield off and that one was bone dry too..
My opinion the dealership in my area is useless and lies.

I highly doubt we'll get a trd pro here.. we didnt even get an double cab off road.

Has anyone lifted their truck not by the dealer but dealer confirmed it wont void the warranty?

Any word on a double cab off road model for 2017? Or will the TRD pro double cab have a long box option? It would sure be nice to have crawl control, double cab and a long bed.

I'd even take a DCSB to have a locking diff + extras in a double cab. Can't believe how short changed we get up here.

Went to Vancouver and back this weekend. Got the truck dirty and still averaged 20mpgs there and back!

This was at triangle beach for those who care :)

Love the black, always been my favorite colour, had it in the past but don't have the time to keep it polished now. Enjoy the pictures though.

Anyone else getting a weird noise from the engine, like a clacking, grinding when you step on the gas from a dead stop, meaning accelerating more aggressively not pinning it to the floor? I notified them on my first service and had them check the tranny fluid, which I am sure they just did the tech stream check, the noted it was fine, i am tempted to bring it into another shop/tranny shop to have it double checked.

Stereo likes to reset after 3-4 hours drives, seems to happen when I am streaming spotify to the radio from my iphone, perhaps the truck hates apple products? I see this isn't just me either.

On a side note take a look at your rear bumpers, everyone of them (well 90%, i'd guess), I have seen in car lots, and at dealers has a misaligned bumper, including mine. I had them put in an FPR/FRP or whatever they call it to Toyota Canada to notify me if there is a fix for this, still waiting on the number so I can follow up with Toyota Canada myself. Not a huge issue, just odd that it is out that noticeably. Seems to be more noticeable on the colour matched ones as they are plastic, but the chrome ones can be bent, according to the tech, as he mentioned it was noticed on a few others as well and they just pulled them out or back into shape.

Other then those, I had the usual grease fittings, improperly torque'd etc that everyone else has. They don't seem to care as the vehicle is in your possession now. Got to love dealers, they sell a product that is suppose to have high standards of QC, yet don't back it up. I'm not expecting them to fork out money/bend over backwards, but they should be concerned and letting Toyota know about it.

Why does my 2013 have made in Mexico on the door jam then? It goes by plant capacity. Mexican made Canadian Tacoma's are rare but they exist. I don't think any have been made in the 3rd gen line yet though.

It's kind of frustrating reading this thread now with all the speculation but I hope that Toyota smartens up for 2017. The only person I knew that bought a 2016 ended up with a lemon, which happens, that Toyota took back. He then bought a last on the lot 2015. I know in my group unless Toyota does something about the engine/transmission combo and the lack of OR options then there won't be much enthusiasm to move to the 3rd gens.

Not positive on this but I think it goes by production model, meaning the models in the states that we don't get in Canada are made in Mexico. I had a '13 Limited, which came out of Texas, you have a TRD Sport DCLB which has Mexican origins.

Way easier to tool up the assembly lines by model and then keep pumping them out.

My truck was a new from dealer Made in Mexico Tacoma. The only difference between our trucks is chrome and leather seats. Those options you don't need to retool for.

It's come up multiple times. The "there is no Mexican made Tacoma's," argument is false. There are likely multiple factors involved in when Toyota will ship trucks to Canada from Mexico.

Not quite, but I get your point.

I would agree that production limits and consumer demand would not stop Toyota from grabbing models from Mexico to send here if they are the same model. They are in the business to sell vehicles, and if they can make a profit doing it, they would build them in Antarctica and ship them here.

Which dealer did you go to? That's bad enough to deserve a public shout out and protect the rest. It's not ratting out! Let's hear it!

I know some 2nd Gens here in Canada are from Mexico. Seeing how this is a 3rd Gen thread, I was referring specifically to the 3rd gen Tacomas for the Canadian market not being built in Mexico.
