Ive been helping my neighbor rebuild his over winter. He has a 2000 1100. And an awesome lift. We just finished it. Imagine a steam train coming towards you (with his full titanium exhaust)

Nice, very nice! You'll stand out since their are not that many Guzzi's on the road which I find a bit amazing since they are Europe largest manufacturer and the fourth largest by sales in the world! My old airhead (BMW) shares many parts that Guzzi's of the same generation uses. So I hope the Guzzi gives you many carefree miles.

    Thanks man!
I did read a lot about the similarities with the BMW bikes... CARC etc. Reading up on them it sounds like they're quite reliable which is good considering their previous reputation. I think Guzzi is staying within their means right now in the U.S as far as production goes but looking at their new offerings I could imagine seeing a lot more of them on the road in the future. Something about longitudinally mounted V-twins that get me goin

The ole trusty Honda ST1300. "It's like a Goldwing and a sport bike had a lovechild".

A little 0-35mph run after installing the dual 17" Delkevics (baffles out of course). Love the way the V4s sound!

Technically your engine is a 90 degree transverse engine but who am I to be picky riding a bkle with a 180 degree horizontal opposed engine! I know first hand the Guzzi's from the late 60's to early 80's shared allot of the same parts in particular electric parts such as alternators, stator's, rotors, diode boards, starters, and they also shared some of the same parts with Ducati's. I find it slightly ironic that they named their new bagger the MGX-21 the "Flying Fortress" since we used allot of Flying Fortress to bomb the crap out of the Italians in WW2. I would love to take their new Stelvio 1200NX for a long ride and run it heads up with BMW R1200 GS Adventure and see how the Guzzi stack's up? It would be really interesting to read some reviews of how both bikes do against each other and something tells me Guzzi might do better then one suspects. Just my opinion but the adventure bike and long distance segment is a area I think if done right Moto Guzzi could get a real toe hold on the market here in the states. The price point on the Stelvio is super sweet so it would be great to see a couple of them entered into the next IBR (Iron Butt Rally) and see how they fair. If they hold up to a grueling race like that then I will bet allot of people who are interested the Adventure/cruiser bike segment will tell BMW to take their over price unreliable GS and shove it up their ...... well you know! o_O

Sounds a bit like my old vintage 81 R100RS, except you don't have the "clunking" sound in the gears as you shift. Nice!
