For some reason I thought Bishop was UFA. That does change things. I would still think that Calgary would want a solution in goal for more than just one year though and Tampa probably doesn't want to let their number one goalie go easily.

Wideman sucks. I've watched him a ton with the Flames. He is a great powerplay guy and basically a 4th forward on the ice. Yes, in Calgary his partners have been great at covering his weaknesses in the last few years, but I'll be pissed if the Leafs trade for him expecting him to be good all around. If they could trade Lupul or Bozak for him fine. I doubt Calgary wants to dump a Dman though for deadweight like Lupul. Bottom line Wideman on the Leafs doesn't help the Leafs other than cap space... and they probably will be okay there this year.

 

Just running off what ideas are thrown back and fourth from different beat writers and stuff. Seems like they dont want Wideman there anymore and we have lots of bad contracts to trade and no veteran dmen. One year left too thats not too bad

People talking Hall for Subban type deals a lot right now. Me as a fan of neither, I would think its a fair move, but value Hall more I think. Subban is too overpaid for what he brings

 

Bonuses though count under the salary cap. If they didn't teams would be paying everyone bonuses to circumvent the cap.

 

Subban is a Norris candidate most years though. What has Hall done other than been a good 1st line player?

Subban is 9 mil cap hit and doesnt even kill penalties. Theres a reason they are thinking about moving him

 

It all depends on what is available to them. They haven't explained how many players teams will be allowed to protect yet.

 

He runs their powerplay and he is usually their offensive dynamo. I'd be very surprised if they deal him unless they decided to shake things up.

He was terrible last year man, hes not close to as good as your thinking. He was not even considered on team Canada lol. Terrible defensively

 

That's not explaining who will be protected lol.

Each of the 30 already existing teams will be allowed to protect some of their players. If they are allowed to protect as many as happened in the previous expansion drafts then LV will really suffer. However, if Bettman follows through with his hardon for the Southern markets and his comments about this draft giving the expansion team unparalleled access to players, it's not hard to see a reality where the expansion team does get a few gems.

To be honest the entire Montreal team fell apart when Price went down. I can't imagine how someone could pin that on one Dman.

 

So why the hell would they consider dealing him?
