    Instructions can be found on our website, I included the link here as well. It says 2005-2015, but installation is the same. The tabs on the plastic skin get cut off if you opt to install the oem skin back on top of the metal skin from us. I never showed that on the installation instructions but will try to make the time to get them revamped.

    Thank you Joe - Is the plastic cap stout enough to sit atop your cap without flapping?
    Toyota keeps the cap in place using the clips. If we cut them off, what keeps the plastic
    cap in place? Another question, the picture shows a screw on either end of the cap; are
    these secured by rivet-nuts or are they self tapping screws?

    Are we talking about the same thing? Sounds like you are asking about the cap, not the skin? The Toyota plastic cap will install over the Mobtown skin and the Toyota plastic skin, but the Toyota plastic cap will not work with the Mobtown metal cap.

    Yes Joe, I am talking about the cap. I think I am a little confused. Your installation
    instructions (step 6) reads "If you prefer you can install the OEM plastic skin and
    cap over top of the Mobtown Offroad steel skin". Not trying to be a pest, just
    pointing outthat your instructions imply that the plastic cap can be reinstalled over
    the Mobtowncap, as does your entry (#121) on this thread. I think you commented
    that was so people would not have issues with Tonneaus sealing. Personally, I intend
    to shed the plastic as soon as I get the cap from you.

    Additionally, the picture on your website shows a screw on either end of the cap; are

    I think we are confusing each other on verbage. Let me try to clear this up.

    This item is what I refer to as the "skin":
    http://mobtownoffroad.com/product/tailgate-skin/

    It can be installed under the factory Toyota plastic tailgate skin (with minor trimming to male tabs under the factory Toyota plastic tailgate skin) and factory Toyota plastic tailgate cap.

    This item is what I refer to as the "cap":
    http://mobtownoffroad.com/product/3rd-gen-tailgate-cap/

    It can be installed under the factory Toyota plastic tailgate skin, but can not be installed under the plastic Toyota plastic cap.

    The screw that you are referring to are factory installed machine screws that are under the factory Toyota plastic tailgate cap. You simply removed the factory Toyota plastic tailgate cap, removed the screws, set our cap in place and reinstall the screws. You can't see that because they are hidden on the factory Toyota plastic cap.

    Thank you again Joe, I was not confused regarding the interpretation of your
    instructions which clearly state "you can install the OEM plastic skin and cap
    over top of the Mobtown Offroad steel skin." There are no tabs on the plastic
    tailgate skin to be removed because there are no tabs on the skin. however
    there are on the cap. I do not plan to reuse either plastic piece!

    I appreciate the information about the machine screws for the cap (I hate
    rivet-nuts). The replacement of the cap should take less time than taking it
    out of the shipping carton.

    Confusion runs rampant! I was not trying to be belligerent, just trying to minimize
    confusion regarding the ability to make your improvement look more "stock" for
    those of that persuasion. Personally, I like to show off my "usable" tailgate to
    other Taco lovers. Its a shame that my Mobtown skin is covered up by my BedRug!

    now that you are taking orders for the cap, I'm happier that a pig in . . .(well, you
    understand what I mean!). Why, I may even reconsider that rear bumper you're
